Getting what you deserve

For those of you who have helped to hand the House to the most radical left-wing liberal member ever to foul its halls, I sincerely hope you'll enjoy the following:

Higher taxes
Gay Marriage
Millions more illegals flooding through an unchecked border
Free medical care, college tuition, etc. for those illegals
24 hour abortion clinics
A degraded military
Further erosion of the family and values

I also expect that this country will be hit worse than on 9/11.
The Muslim extremists are getting EXACTLY what they want -- more spineless Democrats ruining America. They will be emboldened like never before.

I may have to join the Baldwins in Canada.

Bitter much?

Sounds to me you need a big ol' hug sweetie.

Anyone want a Canadian woman? :teeth:

Ewwwww. Girls have cooties.

I'm sorry but you sound like a little child, upset with his playmates so he's taking his toys and going home!!

I voted straight Republican, and while I'm disappointed with some of the outcome I'm not going to whine and get angry about it. I voted. I had my say. I was not in the majority. It happens. Get over it.

:thumbsup2 It's amazing what we have survived. Frankly, I think we benefit by keeping a balance in power over time. I wouldn't want either party, especially in the extreme, to continue to rule. There is something to be said for checks and balances. :)

Whew I can't believe I read this whole thread but I think this is the smartest thing said so far. And probably the smartest thing someone will say all day. :goodvibes

After you're done having your tantrum, you'll realize it's not all that bad.
I'm a Republican and it's not bad having a balance of power. I never vote straight ticket, because I think it's good to mix it up a bit.

I disagree completely about the gay marriage issue you seem to have. I just don't understand how extreme your thinking is.

As a registered Republican who associates much more with the Libretarians than the Republicans, I am very happy with the outcomes for the most part. I read a great column a few days ago by a staunch Republican who was also hoping for a Democratic sweep. He quoted someone else saying, "It's time to let the other guys 'f' it up for a while." I whole heartedly agree. I am looking forward to the stalemate this will produce. I am hoping nothing gets done - the less the better. Things are not going to change as the parties are essentially the same. This is a good thing. It will also be a good thing when power changes hands again the next time.

Erin, my sentiments exactly and nicely stated. I, too, am a Republican leaning towards Libertarian. To me, gridlock is a good thing.

I voted straight republican....but I am actually happy with the election outcome.
I really do want to see how the Democrats can "make things better".
I really want to see if they can pull off ALL the things they have promised for the last ten years.

AND, if they can't.... they can't blame the republicans anymore. ;)

yeah, just like we heard in 2004. The OP has the same right to whine now that Ms Striesand and others had to whine then. You don't have to listen if it annoys you.

The Dems do seem to have short memories, don't they? Now, its our turn to do some bi***ing. Oh, it will be fun!!!

I don't see it as short term memory problems at all. I'm amazed at the hypocrisy on the part of the whiny members of the right. They mocked and rolled their eyes and made nasty comments about how the Dems needed to move on and how they need to grow up and deal with the results of the election. And just as soon as an election turns away from their favor - it's doom and gloom and the end of the world as we know it.

I've got to ask those people - how do you like them apples?

Whatever. I still think fun times are ahead! :thumbsup2 I welcome this change in leadership.

Ok let's take this one by one:

Higher taxes: Republicans ALSO raise taxes, and they only give tax breaks to the rich.
Gay marriage: I have no problem with this.
Illegals coming in: Already happening, and Republicans have not done a damn thing to stop this.
Free stuff for illegals: It's the rich Republicans in the big businesses who hire them as cheap labor. The Republicans are part of the reason why they come here, stay, and get free stuff.
24 abortion clinics: I have no problem with this either.
A degraded military: If Bush & Co. would bring the troops home, they wouldn't be so degraded as they already are.
Further erosion of family values: Why would the Dems erode family values? The Conservative GOP Political and Christian Right have already done a great job at doing this: Rev. Ted Haggard, Mark Foley, need I say more?

If you want to go to Canada, go on ahead.

I was posting the response above at 10:24, the same time you were posting your explanation in agreement with CFG.
I posted my explanation at 10:22 in post #131. A post which you quoted and STILL questioned even though it contained the answer to your inquiry.
