Getting to WCC from AK?

We have 7:20 p.m. dinner ressies at WCC one night of our trip after touring AK 'til close at 5:00 p.m. Obviously, we will have 2+ hours to kill. I don't really think I want to try to return to POP before dinner, but don't want to arrive at WL before 6:00 p.m. either (although a little time to look around the resort would be nice). Would it be silly to take a bus from AK to MK and then ride the boat over to WL? I think the boat ride would be nice, plus maybe it would eat up a little time. What would you do: 1) bus from AK to WL; or 2) bus to MK and then boat to WL?

How about taking the bus to WL and then spending your time both touring the resort ...AND... taking the boat to and from MK.

Fun thing to do: WL main desk can provide you with a "Hidden Mickey" Scavenger Hunt

It would actually be a bus from AK to TTC then monorail or ferry to MK then the boat to WL. I'd do it. The ferry and boat rides are fun. On the return you might want to take the bus from WL to MK. Its a quicker ride than the boat. Depending on what time MK closes, busses back to your resort stop running 1 hour after the park closes.

I think this is a first. How to get from A to B the SLOWEST way. :teeth:

Well, if you go from AK to MK, the bus will actually drop you off at the TTC. You can then take the monorail over to MK, and then the boat to WL. This alone will take about an hour. So, you have many opportunities to chew up time. Stop off at the Polynesian and/or GF and look around.

OR, you can go from AK to AKL and look around. Then take the bus to MK, boat to WL.

Figure on an hour waiting for busses, boats and traveling using either. So you have at least an hours worth of sightseeing.

You could take up you extra time riding the monorail. Ask them if you can sit up front. If you take the bus you could also check out Fort Wilderness. There is so much over there to see.

I'm glad I asked! I didn't realize busses don't run from AK to MK.

Actually, on the day in question, MK closes at 6:00 p.m. for MNSSHP. I would still be able to catch a bus from MK to our resort after 6:00 p.m., wouldn't I?

Thanks for all the ideas! :flower:

Is the WL a monorail resort?

Yes, they will have busses running til about 1am. No, WL is not on the monorail but getting from TTC to MK you will either need the monorail or Ferry.

No it is not. I was thinking that if you were to follow the previous poster's suggestions, take the AK bus to the TTC then you could ride the monorail just for fun, and then the boat to WL. Coming back you will need to either boat to TTC and transfer to an AK bus or take a bus from WL to DD and then transfer to an AK bus.

She's staying at Pop. Take the bus or boat from WL to MK then hop aboard your resort bus. Its the easiest way. We took the DTD from Poly once to get a Pop bus. OMG, what a pain. After waiting 30 mins for the DTD bus at Poly, then going to GF before heading to DTD, then having to wait 3 bus loads before being able to board to get back to Pop. I'll take my car before going to DTD by bus again.
