I arrive January 20th to check in for Spring Advantage 2010 , I am from MN and looking at flights that leave on the 20th from here, there isn't a good option to get there on time to check in (earliest getting there at 11:30.:sad2:) So I plan on flying in on the 19th and staying at Pop for the night, my question then is,I looked all over the CP website and I tried to look through past posts here to find something, but came up empty handed what way is best for me to get to Vista Way then after my stay at Pop?

Also, I selected roomate notification when I accepted my offer, but still haven't been matched  so if anyone is checking in 1/20 that also needs a roomate let me know :flower3:

From Disney's Pop Century Resort:

1. Exit Pop Century Resort and turn right on Victory Way (towards Disney's Hollywood Studios.

2. Turn right on Buena Vista Boulevard. Stay to the right.

3. Merge right onto State Road 536/Epcot Center Drive heading east. Stay to the right.

4. Merge onto I-4 Eastbound, heading towards Orlando. Stay to the right.

5. Take Exit 68 for State Road 535/Lake Buena Vista. Stay to the right.

6. Merge to the right onto State Road 535 heading south.

7. Make a right turn at Meadow Creek Drive. Vista Way is on your right.

You won't have your car right?

Ask the front desk to call a cab for you. I figured you could take the bus to Downtown Disney and then take a cab, but I forgot you would have all of your luggage too!

You could also see if anyone with a car would be willing to pick you up (if you trust that way)

:goodvibes Thanks for the great directions, but as Kmg148 pointed out I am car-less :upsidedow

Thanks! I figured as much, I'll probably go the cab route as I don't want to have anyone go out of the way to get me, I was hoping against hope that there would be a shuttle of some sort but a cab will work. :thumbsup2

Same problem! I don't really know what to do as I will be arriving one day prior (jan 5) and staying at the holiday inn sunspree. Sooo I guess we would just call a cab? But it seems so silly to have to do that. I asked the campus reps about this issue and they couldn't give me an answer at all. lol. Everyone just seems to take a car! We'll figure it out...

I know! I asked my phone interviewer about it and she said that it would be in the information I would receive if accepted, which of course it's not lol, oh well I'll just try to play it by ear.

In this case, walk out of your hotel. Hang a left, and walk down to the crosswalk at the intersection of State Road 535 and Meadow Creek Drive. Cross the street and go straight, Vista will be on your right.

It's less than a mile, I can't see any taxi driver taking on that fare.

But, as I forgot, they will have luggage. That can be really tiring and might be impossible for some to do depending on what they've brought with them.

I brought my car, so I didn't have to do what you guys are doing. Since there is still time left, you could always try and find some people who you may want to room with who have cars who could come get you. You never know, some may not mind helping.

I know when I got there, I had a car and my roommate didn't. She took the Magical Express to our hotel. We left the majority of our stuff with bell services and checked in at Vista. We went back to the hotel later in the day to pick up our stuff. That's an idea too.

If a cab wouldn't go between SunSpree and Vista, find a hotel that's a little further down. The Comfort Inn off Palm Parkway is the next intersection after the Crossroads (shopping center where the McDonald's is). It's not that far down the road, only a couple minutes. I've stayed there before many times without a problem.

I'd be willing to drive someone to Vista, provided you're not a murderer or something :) Given, I only have a pick-up truck but I don't intend on taking a boatload of stuff, either, so it shouldn't be too big a problem. We could make it work haha.

My check-in date is February 1, though, so I wouldn't be able to help any of you who have posted already, but if anyone else is in a similar situation, I got your back haha. My check-in date's a Monday so I intend on leaving Atlanta on Friday and spending the weekend down there with family. If you're interested PM me and we can figure something out. If not then good luck anyway :D And good luck to the rest of you who have posted so far!!

My arrival date is January 25th so I plan on taking a 6am flight that day.

Is it better to arrive a day early?

It's just a lot easier. You never know if there would be bad weather or your flight could be delayed (or even canceled) for some reason. You never know with airlines. Besides, depending on where you are flying from--and by the time you get to the check-in, it might be really late and you would get the last apartment choices.

I see, I was coming with my mom so I'll have to see if we have enough funds to stay the night at a hotel.

I'm cabbing it on the 20th!

I'm considering asking for a late check out at my hotel. Then I will going over there in the AM, check in (since I'm on my own), and come back to the hotel to get my stuff. That way I don't have to worry about lugging it around with me or losing anything...

To save yourself some money and time - they have a tent set up that is secure to store your stuff while you get checked in. I would take it all on the first trip and store everything but your purse.

If you can't get a late checkout, ask the hotel about holding your luggage for a short while. Quite often hotels will do that for you.

for what it's worth... a lot of CPs arrive the night before and stay at Pop Century/All Star resorts!!! Have you joined the facebook groups? You could ask around on there to see if someone could give you a ride... i'm sure someone has to be staying there with a car!!

Good luck!!

That would be cool but I'm looking for what's most economical! I saw the Marriot for about 100 dollars a night, how much is Pop Century?

Sweet! Thank u for checking for me :)

I think that will work better than the Marriot since it's closer!

You might be able to even ask around on different online groups (on here, facebook, etc) and see if someone could book you a reservation w/ their friends/family cast member discount. You'd get up to 40% off that way :) Just a suggestion!!
