getting to universal studios with no car

Good evening all

I think this question may have already been asked am sorry if it has.

me and my partner will be staying at the all star sports resort next year and would like to visit universal studios however neither of us drive so will be using taxis or busses to get there, I would like to known if anyone has done this if its easy to do.

Taking a taxi is very easy but the bus is very likely less expensive. Mears runs all the taxis I believe, and you can arrange a pick up in advance.

If you buy your Universal tickets through this website, they include round-trip transportation from Mears who will pick you up and drop you off at your WDW resort. If you can find good discount Universal tickets elsewhere, then you can still call Mears directly and book your round-trip for $ 20.00 per person per day. The bus stops at Sea World first before heading to Universal and picks up at Sea World (after Uni) prior to heading back to WDW, depending on the time you choose to leave Uni. The busses arrive and leave once per hour. Mears will inform you of the current schedule. A taxi will cost you about $ 35.00 + each way and is much more convenient.

Have done this a fair few times in the past as non drivers as well. As already suggested Mears Shuttle for 2 will be the cheapest option but a bit more time consuming.

The extra expence for a taxi imo is worth it these days. The shuttle is regular , hourly i think but you still need to plan a little to be in place in time for the pick up. Far better to enjoy yourselves without checking your watch to see how much time you have.

One thing to avoid is Lynx public bus transportation. Looks really cheap but takes for ever.

Taxi every time for us! - you are not restricted by times either. You can get one to pick you up from your resort and there is a well organised taxi rank at universal making the return journey easy!

Been a couple of years since we got a taxi as we have driven or stayed at Universal on our most recent trips - last time we got a cab it was 2010 at it was $35 inc tip.

Just ask the concierge and they can get one (or you can call Mears from your room)

We are doing our first 5 days WDW at POR and 3 last days at Universal Royal Pacific. I looked into renting a car but just couldn't justify paying to park at Universal for 3 days which would be around 60 dollars for parking alone. We are going to do a taxi from POR to RPR and then on our departure day a taxi from RPR to MCO. No worrying about driving, having to fill gas etc. though I do love having a rental car on hand..it kills me to spend $60 for parking just for the car to sit at Royal Pacific...ugh

just for clarification.
at hotels it's $20 per night, so if you do 3 days 2 nights it's only $40

of course 3 nights = $60

it's at the park that it's $18 per day. At hotels it's $20 per night.

We are going from MCO to Universal and then from Universal to OKW. I would like to get a taxi but there are 5 of us, so I'm thinking it would be cheaper to get a Mears shuttle.
