Hi all

We land at Orlando international at 14:50pm on sept 8th, and are staying at All Stars. For the experienced people who’ve been through customs and travelled to the resorts before, whats the earliest time you think we could make Universal for the same day?

I really wanted to take in TNA wrestling, and thats their last day of shows until the following month. They say to get there as early as possible to avoid dissapointment, and I recommends 6pm.

Do you think is do-able? Getting to the resort, basically throwing our lugagge in and departing again.

I don't think you can do it. By the time you've got off the plane, passed through customs and collected your luggage, it could be pushing on for 5pm. At the very earliest it will be 4pm. You then have to travel to your hotel, which will probably take 30-40 minutes and then travel to Universal, which is another 20-25 minutes (in a taxi). Does the show actually start at 6pm or is it later?

A little later but I think its free admission and therefore I expect it to be busy? They recommend getting there 17:45pm-18:00pm

I think you'd struggle to get there. One option would be to go straight from the airport to universal then check in later but you'd have to leave cases in the car.

Do you have a car? If so could you drive straight there from the airport?

i dont think you would do it, definitely if you want to check in first.
if there is a slight delay, or a queue at the rentacar desk, you wont do it.

youre also hoping that you wont be affected by jetlag
i did what youre planning going to the Grand Ole Opry once (flew in, and saw the show that night)
i just sat there for the second hour biting my hand to try and stay awake, poor couple next to me were throughly creeped out.

I'm with the others.

This past May we arrived around the same time and by the time we'd gotten through security, collected our luggage and car etc, drove to ASSp (we knew the general direction we were going in, but not exact) it was close on 5.30pm when we arrived at Sports to check in.

I actually think it'd be pushing it to go straight there, even that would be a close call.

Thanks for the replies

No we dont have a car, was simply going to cab it now to the resort and hopefully cab it to Universal after throwing our luggage in our room.

Would online check in at All stars speed things up?

I shouldn't really try and help seeing as you're obviously a blue ;)

Online check in should speed things up yeah.
How are you getting to All Stars? Magical Express?

:goodvibes

No. The queue to check in at that time of year and at that time of day will be minimal (or non-existent) anyway. Besides, don't you still have to go to the desk if you do online check-in? If you want to check in beforehand, it's all the travelling to different places that will slow you down, not the actual check-in process.

The only way you could do it is if you went straight from the airport to Universal.

There would be no way of us doing that sadly :guilty:

Haha, probably taxi mate, and then taxi to Universal right from the resort it that helps!

Although a taxi may work out to be a fair bit quicker wouldn't it?

:goodvibes

Just as we were looking for the quickest way, due to wanting to get to Universal asap.

Yes but if you're not going to Universal, you can save some money by taking the Magical Express.

As I said before, I think the only way you will make it to the wrestling thing is if you go straight there from the airport. I'm not sure if there is a place at Universal where you'd be able to store your luggage- maybe someone else knows? :confused3

out of interest, are you going up to universal for just tna or planning to visit it again?
the taxi cost must be huge from the allstars, surely a car you be better value in the long run (even if only rented for a few days)

I've taken a taxi to Universal from various places onsite and it's around $30 for a single journey, which isn't too bad.
