Very simple. You can go with Mears, front desk got all numbers. They will pick you at some specific time and they have specific return times but there are several times, so it is flexible enough. I think it cost $14 or $17 (do not remember) per person round trip.
You can get a cab. Again front desk for #. Will cost around $60 round trip. It is more flexible.

We are also going to Universal for one day and may just rent a car from either the Car Care Center by MK or at the Dolphin. It was between $50-$60 for 1 day for a small car.

Did you do that? take mears to universal?

For me the easiest thing to do is to rent a car. I like being able to come and go as I please. I find driving around the Orlando area to be very easy. Its very well marked.

We rent a car, I agree with OP....everything is very well marked.

We've rented a car and done mears....I think both worked well. We rented in 2008 and did mears in 2009. The one thing I liked better about mears was they pick you up in front of your hotel and drop you off there! Saves some time w/ getting and returning cars

What? You mean you didn't know that the monorail will take you there? :lmao: Sorry, I couldn't resist! You have no idea how many people I've known who think they can take the monorail to pretty much every tourist attraction in Orlando.

LOL if only it were that easy, and I still say Dixie Landings also!! I love that hotel

Which one was less expensive ? mears or a car?

You were married at the Beach Club? I would love to see pictures!

Plus the parking fee for Universal ($12, I think)

It is really very simple.

1. Think happy thoughts.

2. Sprinkle yourselves with Pixie Dust.

3. Say I can fly.

4. Then take off and head over to Universal.

The only downside to this is there is a possibility that as soon as you leave Disney property the spell will fail and you will crash! :stir: :duck:

For anyone who has used Mears to go to Universal, I have a question...

Do the buses pick up people at their hotels early enough so that it arrives at the opening of Universal? Also, how early do they leave in the afternoon?

Just wondering if we would gain more time renting a car or taking a taxi.

Thanks,

Jan

Hi
They ( mears ) ask you what time you want to be pick up for exemple I just yesterday booked my mears for universal my pick up time ( morning ) is 745 am universal opens at 900am my return is 630pm ( park closes at 6 ) 18 $ per personn for a round trip

We always have a car but many have told me that they prefer to have a car for a day or two. You can come and go as you please and visit Universal and maybe another attraction or two.

I just booked a *********** Town Car. I know this might sound excessive, but with 4 of us, it was easily the best and cheepest option! It seems like a great service, I specified a pick up and drop off time (Picking up at 8.00am from Carribean Bech and rerturn from universal at 6.30), and means we don't have to worry about picking up others on the way etc. Last year we did a Mears shuttle (only 2 adults), and uit was $18 return each plus tip, plus it took us like 1.5 hours to get home, by the time we waited for people to get on the bus, then stopped at sea world and wet and wild too, we had to run to make an 8.30 dinner ressie when our pickup time was 6. It was a great service, and our Bus driver was a hoot, making us laugh and giving us a Disney quizz, and telling stories about people he's met in the job.

But, for $90 all up (inc tax, for 4 adults) the *********** town car is a comparable price, and really convienvet! They also have a van for 6 people, which isnt much more expensive I dont think!

Of course, I havent used *********** before, so it could be a dissaster?:confused3

Hi
me again any other bad expereinces with mears ???:confused3 I was so happy with the mears fare but I am not so much in getting back at my resort at 830 pm :confused3
Tell me your experiences please as I may change my transportation ....
thanks

Any guess as a taxi would cost for seaworld and universal ( we are doing both ) we will be at AKL we are 2 adults ..
we don't want to rent a car .
thanks alot
