On our next trip (in September) we want to eat at Trails End. We're spending the day at Epcot and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there and how much time to allow. Looking at the map it looks like the easiest way would be to take the monorail back to Magic Kingdom and then take the boat to Fort Wilderness. Thoughts? How much time do you think we should allow?

I would say plan a good hour I actually ate at Trails End on Friday (and Hoop de Doo the week before) and it takes a little while to get back there...

From Epcot I personally would take the bus to Fort Wilderness then hop a bus to the back of the resort where Hoop de Doo and Trails end are --- You could take the monorail however its not been real consistent lately... I know things could change but I would rather rely on two busses then a monorail / boat especially in September where the weather is inconsistent :thumbsup2

On a side note I really enjoyed Trail's End!

Idk if you have been there before but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! The mains were good but I really loved the strawberry shortcake it was excellent!!!

I agree, I think the bus route would be the best way to go in the scenario. Especially as you have to switch monorails - Epcot to TTC, TTC to Magic Kingdom and then the boat to Fort wilderness.

Yes take the Monorail to MK then the boat. The only reason I suggest this is that if you take a bus from EPCOT to FW then you have to get on the internal FW bus system to get to the back of FW where Trails End is. Trails End is near the boat dock so I suggest using that way to get there.

Or you could take the Monorail to the Contemporary. There is usually a boat running between the Contemporary, WL and FW. Sometimes they do stop it as it is usually for early mornings for people going to breakfasts.

But the Epcot>FW>Internal bus is about the most direct/efficient route. It involves a single transfer, and the internal bus picks up right where the park buses drop off. Any use of the monorail requires two connections - first from one monorail to the other at the TTC, then to a boat.

I didn't even think about switching monorails. Thank you for your replies. This is why I love these boards.

I would take the monorail to the TTC and then the ferry boat to MK. I'm biased because the ferry is an attraction to me and the monorail is just meh.

We really enjoy Trails End!

Yum! We love Trails End! We have gotten there many different ways and although boat from MK is quickest, taking two monorails to get to the boat...eh. Bus is best in your situation...

Enjoy!

We had time to kill before our Trail's End dinner, so we took the monorail to MK and then walked over to the Contemporary to look around. We then took a boat from the Contemporary to FW, which drops you off almost exactly where you need to be.

Would you mind telling me where you sat and if you loved/liked or wished you chose different seats for the Hoop de Doo show. I am hoping to book it soon and I am not sure what seating is best for seeing and hearing the show :P

Sorry for the delay I sat in the tier 2 section and it was perfect! I would not recommend 3! Too far away and not apart of the show IMO however 2 was perfect!

another choice - From Epcot take the bus over to Wilderness Lodge, walk back through the resort to the pool, follow the signs to the boats, and take the boat over to Ft Wilderness -

There are a lot of choices, but I too would say take the bus from Epcot to a resort (Contemporary or Ft Wilderness, or Wilderness Lodge) like others have said, looking at the map of Ft Wilderness the Food Places are closer to the beach, so you should take a bus from that first bus stop back, or take a boat which is closer -

This is what I was going to suggest. The walk through WL is very pleasant, and the boat docks within sight of the restaurant. It won't be fast, but none of the options will be. Allow plenty of time (45-60 minutes) and if you find it takes less time, the kids can play on the playground next to Trail's End, and you can get a pre-dinner drink at the walk up bar :-)

Unless I wanted to eat up a lot of time, in which case I would go from Epcot to TTC (monorail) to MK (monorail) to FW boat), these are the two ways I would go:

1. Bus to WL, bus to FW or walk, if it is not dark
2. Bus to FW, internal bus, preferably Orange, to Settlement
