Getting to the Butterfly Farm -- St. Maarten

Does anyone know the best way to get to the butterfly farm on St. Maarten if you don't do the Disney excursion? We're planning on doing the excursion, but just in case it's sold out, we want a plan B. Is it something you can get to by cab? We don't want to rent a car. Thanks for any help.

You can get anywhere on the island by cab. There's a cab stand at the base of the cruise ship pier. You can grab a cab and do the tour at your own pace. You'll most likely be able to set up a time for the driver to come and get you, or you can have someone at the farm call you a cab when you're ready to go. The farm is maybe a 20 minute cab ride.
