getting to Saturay evening Mass

I am traveling to Disney with our band after Easter, and one of the chaperones wanted to try to get to Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine/Church at 6pm Saturday evening. We will probably be in EPCOT until 4pm, and then travel over to the Magic Kingdom via monorail. Besides getting a cab, does anyone know how she can get to Mass on time? When she called the church this week, they told her that the church is only 2 or 3 miles from Pleasure Island. I am guessing that if she could get to the Downtown Disney area, she would have to take a cab from there to the church. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Just a friendly FYI... 2 Easters ago, My family checked the mass schedule for MQotU Shrine, and checked the mass schedule and called the recorded announcement... we were all set to go to the Saturday Service.... We got there, and low and behold... there is NO Saturday Service on Easter Saturday... We ended up going Sunday Morning... sat in the "Over-Flow Tent" outside... It was still nice, but OH SO crowded... SO ... My advise to you is CHECK THE SCHEDULE ! TALK TO A LIVE HUMAN BEING TOO... and not some volunteer church lady that has no idea about holiday schedule changes...

As far as getting there?? Sorry, I had my car... or we end up renting for your length of stay...


Lets start to petition Disney and the Shrine to bring back services to WDW Property !!!!!!

In the past, we have taken a taxi to the Shrine and asked the driver to pick us up about an hour later. This has worked fine. Please be aware that you should bring a cellphone with you if possible. The folks in the store next to the church will not let you use their phone – and the pay phone is chronically out of service. I do not know about Easter Mass, but Sunday Mass (Saturday night) often runs over 1 hour. Try to plan accordingly – or leave early, as we have done in order to catch our taxi.
