We arrive back in St Pancras at 21.12 on the 22nd August and are planning on getting the train back to South Wales the same night. The last train from Paddington leaves at 22.00 - does anyone know how long it will take us to get across London please?? That's hoping Eurostar gets in on time!!

I am from south wales too

wouldn't fancy that journey after coming back from Disney! ( mind you the drive back from Ashford wasn't brilliant either, soooooo tired after a wjend trip!)

I would book a hotel for that night !

Hope you get something sorted

I'm sorry I can't help you out with that one but I have to say the taxi service at St Pancras is the best we've ever experienced, it's supervised and safe and I would say this would be your best option. When we travelled on Eurostar last October it was late and they did have an announcement when we arrived at St Pancras for those who had missed their connecting train to go to a help desk, I'm not sure what happened when they go to the desk but I thought this was great service. I hope; however, that you don't experience a late train and someone can tell you how long it will take, I'm guessing by taxi it will be a whole lot quicker.

The journey is about 10 mins on the Circle Line or Hammersmith & City Line.
Best to check the Transport for London website closer to the time to check for any maintenance works.

If you take the Circle Line from Kings Cross / St Pancras will end up in the main Paddington Tube station at the front of the station where the shops are.

If you take the Hammersmith & City Line you end up at the rear of Paddington station and can then walk directly onto the trains to South Wales.

We are doing teh same trip in July. We researched the transfer times, but to be on the safe side, we simply booked teh Premier Inn at Kings Cross for the night at jusy £80 for the family. We are heading to South Wales for a weeks holiday before heading back to Ireland....will need to recouperate after the Disney madness!!!!

A taxi between the two stations was quoted to me at about £12-15, but then again, you are hoping that traffic isn't a problem. What I do know is that Eurostar now do a connecting service from a range of cities around the UK. So if you book a through ticket from say Cardiff to DLP return, Eurostar are liable for any missed connections. Well, at least thats what the kind lady told me. She said that they are responsible for getting you to your destination provided you booked the whole journey with them......unfortunately this service did not extend to where we need to go, but might suit you??????

Did that drive last time and got stuck on M25 for three hours!! That's why we are going from London this time. We have booked hotel for the night before we leave but were trying to save money by not having to book another night!

Already booked Eurostar unfortunately, DH used his airmiles. We are using our family railcard to book return train from here.

 nightmare!

I'd jump in a cab - no traffic around at that time of night and who wants to be lugging cases / holdalls up and down to the tube?

In my experience none of the tube lines offers a very good frequency when compared to others.

No contest in my opinion although tube cheaper depending on the number in your party! Choice would be influenced by the arrival time!

Enjoy the trip.
