Getting to O'hana from MK

How difficult is it to get to the Poly from MK? I know they're connected by the monorail, but I'm wondering about the difficulty of getting out of the park, to dinner at O'hana, and back to MK to spend the rest of our night there until they close. How much time would that take? We have a 6 PM reservation and that night is the Christmas party. Would we be wasting time going to O'hana dinner during the party? I may need to reschedule which night we do the Christmas Party..

Not bad, and I know this isn't what you asked, but my unsolicited advice is to maybe not do Ohana on a party night. With a 6 pm reservation, you realistically won't be seated until 6:20, and not out of the restaurant until MAYBE 7:30. Putting you back at MK by 8 depending on if you have to wait for a monorail, etc. I know that's only 1 hour of real party time missed but depending on how late you think you can stay out (and awake), it may be a waste of an expensive hour.

Reschedule the party! Ohana is notoriously behind on reservations, often by 30 mins or more. And they are slow... Like @Cinderella94 said, but I'll go a step further, you'll be lucky to have your main course finished by 7:30. It's not a good meal choice for the party... and transportation is easy, but not fast.

I really appreciate the insight! Sounds like a different day would be better for the party, especially with our little guy. Thank you! :)

Oh wow, I didn't know about O'hana running behind! I'm going to reschedule our party day. Thanks for the advice! :)

I'm going to be a slight contrarian. But only slight. You'll be in the MK all/most of the day already? Depending on your style, I actually don't mind getting to a party a 'little' late (meaning, sometime between 7-8pm). I know you can get in earlier and do things... but I hate the time when it mixes with day guests as it's annoyingly crowded in my experience. Maybe you'd be ok with an extended 'break' in the day? As long as I could be somewhat assured I'd be heading towards the party sometime 7:30-8, I could live with that.

Not a popular perspective I know, but a possibility depending on your plan.

I totally agree with the recommendation to reschedule. We had a reservation for Skipper's Canteen during MNSSHP (5:00 reservation) and while it technically starts at 7 it was later we def would have had the feeling of missing out.
