I just read in a guidebook - "If you are staying off-site, prepare for a complicated journey. Either drive or take a shuttle to the Ticket and Transportation Centre (TTC). From the TTc, you can cross the SEven SEas Lagoon by ferryboat or monorail.

This is my first trip - is it really that complicated!!

A complicated journey? sheeeeesh

Its not complicated at all. Park your car and grab the monorail or ferry across whichever you prefer. The parking lots are huge at DW but there are non-stop shuttle carts to take you around if you dont want to walk it. Its easy, honest. :)

Only 42 more days to go and I am getting a bit nervous.... but millions have gone before me and have been fine!! So I have to relax....

Thanks again.

The only "complicated journey" will be trying to contain your excitement when you first see the WDW Sign!

Speaking of signs, just follow them and you will be fine!

Enjoy Your First Trip!

I betcha it won't be your last!

Congratulations on your first trip. Once you drive and park in the Ticket and Transportation Centre (TTC) you go to the end of your parking line and jump on a tram that takes you to the ticket booth and from there you can choose between the ferry boat or the monorail.

The only complicated thing is remembering where you parked your car. Be sure to write it down just like the tram guy tells you to.

Relax, have fun and roll with the punches.

You're at Disney World!!:bounce: :bounce:

My DH will be thrilled with both I am sure. Are the trams handicap accessible - My DH will be in a wheelchair. I am sure the answer will be yes, Disneyworld seems to think of special people in chairs for most things.

IMO it isn't complicated but it does take some extra time, especially if you are going and coming at busy times of the day. Since you have to change transportation you have an extra line to wait in. You do have to allow for the extra time it takes if you are planning minute to minute like I usually do!

The trams that go from the parking lot to the park entrance are not wheelchair accessible. If you can get out of the wheelchair, fold it, and place it on the tram, you can use the trams (Tell the parking lot CM that you have a foldable wheelchair and can ride the tram - they save spots close to the tram stops for situations like that).
If you have a handicapped parking permit, you can park in the handicapped parking area (they call it "Medical Parking"). If you park in a marked handicapped parking spot without a permit, you might get a ticket. If you don't have a handicapped parking permit, let the parking lot CMs know that you have a wheelchair and someone who can't ride the tram. They will give you a spot to park where you will be fairly close and not need a permit.
There is no tram from the Medical Parking at any of the parks. Depending on where in the lot you are parked, it may be a bit of a walk to the park entrance. At MK, you will need to walk to the TTC and then take the boat (a bit farther walk) or the monorial (where you need to go up a steep, fairly long ramp to get to the monorail station).
The TTC boat and the monorail are both wheelchair accessible. If you are staying at a WDW resort (not on the monorail line), your easiest option would be the buses. All the buses are wheelchair accessible either with a ramp or a lift.

Thank you Sue for your reply, my daughter's chair is not foldable (but it is a very small wheelchair (my daughter is tiny) - she can walk short distances so we could get her on the tram and the chair is light so my DH could get it on the tram if there is room. Do you think that would work?
