Getting to MK on NYE

There will be plenty of cabs. No way would I take a bus and another bus that night.

I'm pretty sure that the pathway from SSR to DTD is blocked off for the foreseeable future due to the DTD parking lot construction.
Thanks! I don't keep up on SSR so I didn't know the walkway was under construction.

I would like to watch NYE fireworks from Poly beach (after we leave HDDR - figured we'd head over there.) BUT - then I have to deal with getting back to SSR from Poly after midnight. Was hopeful that DTD busses are still running then... or else maybe there will be cabs waiting outside Poly to take randoms back to their own resort?:confused3
The MK buses will be running after midnight. You can take the resort monorail or boat back to the MK and then walk over to the buses. You can also cab back as your cab *should* take the same back roads to SSR. If you take a cab make sure to ask them if they can get you home by way of Vista Blvd past FW and Bonnet Creek part PO.

You may also want to have a "Plan B" about watching from the Polynesian Beach. There are reports that they restrict the beach to guests of the Polynesian only on NYE: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=47415238 . Maybe the Top of the World lounge at the Contemporary? It might be open to non-BLT guests (but still DVC guests staying on points). Boardwalk has a party with a DJ and you can see the fireworks from outside. Also, I have heard that SSR has a really nice NYE party itself. You may just want to head home.

All great ideas/tips...thanks! FWIW - SSR pathway to DTD is only closed on the Congress Park side (ex: SSR Congress Park to Marketplace). You can still walk to DTD from the Grandstand side (ex: SSR Grandstand to West Side.)

We may head back to SSR for NYE festivities. All depends on how tired we are on NYE. That is ALSO our travel day...so I am being optimistic thinking we will last until midnight.

On a different note - I have heard that FW itself may have quite a fun NYE party down by the beach... which would be another option. Has anyone ever heard of this?

sorry- it's been a while since we've used the busses (we tend to drive). But just an idea to ask those better in the know- anyway to finagle a connection with the buses at Transportation and Ticket Center?

From where?

From where?

well the OP asked how to get to MK resorts from Animal kingdom. So last time (YEARS back) i was using buses - you could take a bus from AK to TTC then the monorail to your hotel.

Then someone else popped in and i think wanted to get from saratoga springs to hoop dee doo I think. SS is new to me. But if it has a bus to TTC then I think there MIGHT be busses from TTC to wilderness lodge and then fort wilderness/hoop dee doo. If SS doesn't have a direct bus to TTC then there was one from downtown disney (or whatever the mall is called today).

So that's just my recollection- people more in the know really need to fill in. I was just trying to help brain storm.

There are no buses between the TTC and resorts.
