After lurking for some time and listening to the team talk, I have figured out alittle info about everyone here, but I would love a mini crash course about everyone.

where you are at, how you found the boards, what keeps you coming back.......

I will start off by saying, I started in Illinois, ended up in Georgia for 25 years, and moved to orlando for my job in July. Married w/ 3 kids and a cat ( I will not include my husbands 2 birds.)

I love the close knit commumity you seem to be.

I've lived in Indiana for 18 years now and i'm married to my high school sweetheart! After 10 years apart, we were married in 2002. No kids yet...but we're adopting from China! I found the DIS when I was planning our wedding/honeymoon. We got married in a chapel in Orlando and honeymooned at WDW.

I think the close knit community here on the DIS Unplugged board is what keeps me coming back...and coming back...and coming back...

Either that, or I'm just psycho! ;) :rotfl:

I'm in medford, NJ
Became a disney fan after my senoir trip to WDW in 1999.
I met my husband on that trip. He was in my graduating class.
Honeymooned in WDW and continue to go back every year for free dining.
Love the Dis cause it gives me my disney fix in between vists to the world and keeps me up to date with all the new and exciting things offered. Got to love the Dis family here. Come and feel welcomed.
No kids but plan to foster/adopt later.
We have 3 cats. Golden, Oreo, and Cookie :goodvibes

America's Hometown (under a rock).
2 college students (one of them forcibly betrothed to Will).
2 cats
I think I still have a DH around here somewhere...keep misplacing him. Gotta get that cellar door lock fixed.

I've been here forever, or so it seems. You see, someone said my name aloud, and it's really hard to uninvite me now.

shy, demure, non-threatening...really.

I live in Northern Illinois. 10min from Wis. I've been married for 11 years and have a Son 8 and Daughter 5.

My first trip to Disney was when I turned 5 (Aug 1972). I've grown up (and out) with Disney. I have been to WDW more than 60 times (DL 4 times), all while living in the Chicagoland area. We have taken the kids twice (When each was 5).

I found the Disboards through Itunes. and have listened to each show back from the begining.

I have been to a Chicagoland meet and met some of the great Dis'ers. We are having another meet on Dec 7th.

I think I'm here to stay.

Well done for coming out of lurkdom :thumbsup2 I took a few months before I finally registered and first posted ;)

We're from Northampton, England.

I've always loved Disney - DH took a bit of covincing but after a trip to DLRP he was hooked.

Our first trip to WDW was in 2005 and have been back every year since :goodvibes

I found the Dis last year when planning our Wedding, you soon explore other boards and I've met (virtually :surfweb: ) such lovely people that love Disney as much/more than me :woohoo: Can't wait to meet some of you in person too :dance3:

I love the smilies :upsidedow

I'm from the south suburbs of Chicago, I have an adorable 8 year old daughter, Megan, and the cutest puppy in the world, Cody <----- see avatar!

My husband is an anti-Disnite, so he very rarely accompanies me on Disney trips. I took him once and he sees no need to go back EVER. Silly man! :confused3

I've been in WA state for 7 years now. Just love it here (even with the rain!). I found the DISboards when I was searching for info on DVC several years ago and have never stopped posting since!!!

I've been happily married for 22 years and have two teenagers (DD 15, DS 13) and a miniature schnauzer. Currently a stay-at-home mom, but looking for opportunities to return to work part-time if the right thing comes along.

Hi! Sorry I ducked out of chat last night before you arrived.

I'm Dodie. Original - huh? I'm from Indianapolis. There are several Indy-based regulars on the podcast chat every Wednesday night. (Shout out to Will - our Hoosier connection to the podcast crew!)

I've been on the DIS since sometime in 1998, although my join date says 1999. In the beginning, it was a small operation and servers kept crashing. We had to reregister everytime that happened and we lost our join dates and post counts. Can you imagine the uproar if that were to happen today? :rotfl:

I don't recall how I found the DIS exactly. My DH and I had honeymooned at WDW in 1994 and have returned every year since. I was probably planning a trip at the time. We finally became DVC members - which we should have done YEARS ago. We own at VWL - our favorite Disney resort.

We have furry kids only, two German Shepherds and a cat.

I'm dragging my DH Phillip on the podcast cruise. He loves Disney and we've been on two DCL cruises before - so he loves those too. He just isn't really a computer kinda guy and doesn't have an online life like I do.

Thanks for asking!

I'm in Ontario Canada (eh?)...various parts of southern portion of the province. Married, with a daughter and a cat. (The cat's been with me the longest) I introduced DH to WDW on our honeymoon. He was afraid of flying - I told him to get used to it. :rolleyes1 He has. :thumbsup2

I found the DIS through a co-worker (she was DIS'ing at work ALL the time) I used all I could find here to plan DD's first trip, as a surprise for her & managed to convince DH that I could do that much planning, NOT attempt to do everything in one day and still make it feel spontaneous. He was hooked on my efforts & we have managed 2 more trips for her in 2 years! :goodvibes

I'm Don....and....well I'm a DISoholic...

HI DON!

Well, a buddy sent me here when we were planning a trip in August 2003. It was the first 4/3 deal package year!!

I started off slow, checking things out and mostly just reading. Not until the DIS Podcast (which I listened to since day 1), did I post much. I was in on the Podcast board the day it opened. I've stuck here for the most part since.

I live in MI (points to lower right palm) and have 3 kids (9,8, and 3) and 2 cats.

I have 4..or 5 wives...only 1 RL however...

Hi, I'm Jennifer (you can call me Jen) and I live in Delaware. I'm married 12 years with 3 kids, 5, 2 and 8 weeks today. You may have see the baby watch thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1935526).
I found the DIS while I was laid off from my job and looking for Disney planning ideas. I started listening to the podcasts and haven't stopped. I've even contributed to Pete's travel nightmare article.

In the summer I was chatting with Pete and the gang and answered the question "What two vegetables won't Walter eat?" I guess tomatoes and onions and got to pick a number from the prizematron. I picked a good one, because now I'm going on the cruise with you!

I dream of becoming a Dreams Unlimited travel agent (do you know how I can get an interview?;)).

I am Daneen. I live in San Jose, CA with my husband (we were high school sweethearts and just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary), two children (DD11 and DS 7), Beagle and 2 cats. I grew up visiting Disneyland about every other year.

When DH and I were newlyweds, we visited WDW, but did it all wrong, so I don't really count it when I say I have visited WDW once. We did no research, stayed offsite, and really had no idea what we were doing - we assumed we could do WDW in just the same way we did DL. Of course, this was about 1991 and there was a lot less info readily available.

I found the DISBoards in 2006 while I was planning our first family trip to WDW and, truth be told, was a bit turned off. My mistake was going to an area where people were not very nice to one another. I was afraid to ask questions, lest I be blasted for my stupidity :) , so I did not join with a proper user ID. Then in spring of 2007, I found the PodCast and the PodCast board and officially signed up. DD and I have been hooked ever since.

Our trips to WDW will be few and far between, given the distance, but we continue to stay connected because this is a great group of people.

Welcome!

I am in SC (in a long and drawn out process of moving to GA). No hubby or children but I have a four legged baby named Brody - he is a brittany and cute as all get out. :dog:

Found the DIS through google search when I was researching for info on our Disney cruise a few years ago. I found a Trip Report that sucked me in and I have never left.

Hi I'm Fiona and we live in Toronto, Ontario Canada. I have one DS 22 and DH has 3DS 25, 22, 19. None live with us though.

I've loved Disney forever -- one year just when CBR opened my brother and I gave our Mom for Christmas a trip to WDW to stay onsite -- we paid the deposit and she paid the rest. :rotfl:

Went to WDW every year while DS was growing up until he decided he was too old.

Found the Dis after I'd booked a Disney cruise. DH wasn't into Disney til he met me - now's he's just as hooked - or at least says he is. :goodvibes

He's now a registered member of the Dis although in the beginning he couldn't believe it when I told him that we were going to Baltimore for the weekend to meet up with people we'd be cruising with later that year (2003). We've now cruised 3 times with some of the same people and have had a blast.

Mostly hang out on the podcast forum and the Cdn boards. I've met tons of great people because of the boards and hope to meet many more.

Love your reviews btw.

Fiona

Hi, I'm Kathy. Born, raised and live in NJ. Currently single but looking for that guy who gets WDW, DVC, DCL and moegeetoes. I found the DIS 5 years ago when my Sister booked a family cruise on DCL. I've been a fan of the boards ever since and later on the Podcast. And after yesterdays Podcast, I can't wait for the Podcast Cruise.

Hi I am Gibson, I can't tell you anything else.

Although I can tell yo how I found the DIS. I searched iTunes for Disney Podcasts one day and found the DIS unplugged. I joined the dis because they always mentioned it in the show. I didn't start posting in the podcast forum until I had caught up to all of the podcasts (I was afraid they might give something away)

America's Hometown (under a rock).
2 college students (one of them forcibly betrothed to Will).
2 cats
