so a friend asked me a question i didn't know the answer to....her daughter will be flying in...does her daughter have to provide her own transportation to housing or does disney provide her transportion from the airport to the apartments? thanks!

Disney does not provide transportation from the airport to housing for college program kids. She could take a cab or make friends before hand that have a car that could pick her up from the airport.

Another option would be, since check-in is early in the morning, she'll need to arrive in Orlando the day before check-in. If she stays that night in a Disney hotel, she can use the Magical Express to get her and her luggage to Disney property and take a cab the mile or two to Disney housing the next morning for a minimal price.

Quick question. If you stayed in a Disney hotel, would you get a cast member discount or do the discounts not start until you are working? :)

The other thing you could do would be to stay at the Holiday Inn Sunspree the night before check-in. Is it across the street from Vista so a lot of CP's stay there the night before and walk over in the morning. I met someone through the Facebook group to split the night in the hotel with which is nice to cut down on the cost. Mears has a shuttle that goes from the airport to most hotels in Orlando for like $20 or you may be able to find a hotel with a free shuttle service cheaper than staying on property without a discount.

After check in there is a bus that can take you to the other complexes if you don't live in Vista.

We all set up a get together dinner the night before check-in through the FB group and a lot of us worked it out that way to carpool and share rooms.

Yeah I totally recommend the night in the Disney Hotel, so she gets the magical express
Or the sunspree idea, both seem to be the lowest stress way to get there although they do include arriving a night early.
