Question from a newbie. I heard that the fastest way to get to Fantasyland is by going through Cinderella's Castle. Is this true or is somebody pulling my leg?

Nope, no legs being pulled. ;) Head straight down Main Street, through the Castle, and you're in Fantasyland. Easy, huh? :)

The Castle is straight ahead when you enter Magic Kingdom and Fantasyland is right behind it. When you enter the park, just walk up Main Street and walk right through the castle and you will be entering Fantasyland. If there is a show going on at the castle then you will have to go around the castle, but yes, going through the castle is the quickest way if you are coming from the entrance. Now if you are in a Frontierland, Adventureland or Tomorrowland, then that is a different story. The park map will show you the way to get to Fantasyland from those lands.

We like to get on the train and take that around to Mickey's Toontown Fair to start our day... the first thing we do is go see Mickey and then we head to Fantasyland, which is right around the corner.

Toontown doesn't open till 10:00 though, so if it is first thing in the morning you won't be able to do that.

Great. I give this a try. I hope I can drag my DD6 through the castle without a 30 minute awestruck wait. :rolleyes1

Let her look just a little...and be sure to check it out too as there are beautiful mosaic tiles, some are rumoured to be real gold, that adorn the interior arched "hallway" through the castle.

Going "in" the castle will need to be pre-arranged as it is only open to guests with dining reservations (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Oh, NOW I understand what you were asking.

And why you were so "exited/confused/amazed" by the answer...

Going "through the castle" is not such a big deal.

You don't actually go (what most would call) INSIDE the castle to get there.

You don't open a door and walk inside the castle and then exit on the other side.

Its just a large open tunnel, of sorts.

Other than the mosaic artwork on the walls, its just a "passageway" into Fantasyland.

As was said, if you want to go "INSIDE" the Castle, you need some meal ressies.

If you ask the CM at the outside desk (at a non-busy time) they might allow you to open the door to the "waiting room" for the restaurant and take a look inside. (The restaurant is actually upstairs. Only the waiting room is by itself at MK ground-level.) Its OK, but its nothing to "tour".

:confused3  we're heading for Fantasyland first too, was told it was 5 min. walk from Main St. We'd like to do the train ride too but will have a stroller, what do you do with them?
