I apologize if this is in the wrong thread, please move if needed. I have been trying to find my answer, but have been unsuccessful. Where exactly is the Boardwalk, and how would i get to it for my ESPN and Captain's Grill for ADR's? As far as I can see I would have to get there by boat? Most likely one day we will be coming from Epcot, and the other from our resort, Coronado Springs.

Hi Julie Espn is easy to get to from Dhs and Epcot by taking a boat from either to Broadwalk or take a bus to Disney Boardwalk Resort .Its great for a pitcher of beer trust me.:goodvibes

haha YES! We cannot wait for ESPN. Beer and sports are always a good thing for me, and my fiance! :woohoo: Is there any way to get to them by driving or do you have to take a boat?

You can drive to The Boardwalk Inn-there is a lot for people just going to The Boardwalk who are not staying at the Boardwalk Inn.:)

Basically,The Boardwalk is "between" the "back" of Epcot(called the International Gateway)and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

It can be accessed by walking or boating from the International Gateway at Epcot or walking or boating from Disney's Hollywood Studios as well driving or taking a bus to the Boardwalk Inn.:)

The Boardwalk is part of the Epcot Resorts area. The day you are in Epcot, those resorts are an easy walk through the International Gateway in Epcot - between the UK and France. Walk over the bridge to the Boardwalk.
The day you are coming from your resort you have a couple of choices. There are no resort to resort buses on Disney property. You would need to take a bus from CSR to either an open park or DTD to transfer there to a bus from there to the Boardwalk. After dinner you would have to reverse the process and take a bus from the Boardwalk to an open park or DTD and then transfer to a bus to your hotel.
DTD is a major bus hub, but it is usually a painfully slow commute.
Another option is always a taxi. They are readily available all over Disney property. I plan my trip months in advance and over time, I budget a few cab rides. Usually you can get from Point A to Point B for $20. For resort to resort dinner reservations, this is my preferred choice.
Have a Great Time

We will have our own car, so we should be fine to drive from the park we are at that day to be able to go to the Boardwalk Inn, then go to the Boardwalk?

Also,Captain's Grille is inside The Yacht Club Resort whcih can easily be walked to from The Boardwalk or you could drive or bus directly to The Yacht Club(the boats also service The Yacht Club).

Thanks so much! That web site was a big help!! I think the boat would be fun too. Just going to depend on where we are each day and our time we have. THis will all be decided once I know hours and EMHs for when we are going.

I just wanted to let you know how much we love the Boardwalk area and the ESPN Club. The BW is definitely always in our plans, it is so relaxing and laid-back, but still feels "Disney." Love it! :cloud9:

Be sure to try ESPN for dinner, too. IMO, that's the best time to go! :thumbsup2

ESPN is located at the Boardwalk which you can take your car too... but its more fun to go by boat either by EPCOT or DHS. But I believe the Captains Grille is located at the Yacht Club. Now you can drive there too or park your car by the Boardwalk and take the boat over. Up to you...

Don't forget that the ESPN Club doesn't accept ADR's, so if there happens to be a major sporting event taking place the day you go chances are there will be a wait for a table and it's first come first serve. However if there is no major sporting event happening then chances are you should be able to walk right in.

aww that is so good to here :) I cannot wait to go to ESPN. I think we are going to hit this on our arrival day for dinner. Time to relax, have a beer, and watch a game!

If we take the boat from somewhere to the Boardwalk, will we be okay walking or finding a way to Captains Grille?

Yes! We are planning a sunday night dinner there. I will have to wait to closer to the date and I will keep an eye our for what is happening that night.

Yes, Captains Grille is only about 1 block away from the ESPN Zone, coming out of the Zone go to your right and its the first resort closest to Epcot you can get to Captains Grille easier if you go past Stormalong Bay pool towards the main (back) entrance to the Beach Club and the Captains Grille will be on your right.
Have Fun!!

Captain's Grille is inside the Yacht Club Resort and is just across Crescent Lake from The Boardwalk/ESPN Club.:)

The "boardwalk" goes all the way around Crescent Lake so it is a very short walk from The Boardwalk to the Yacht Club.

There is also boat service from The Boardwalk to the Yacht Club, but walking will probably be faster(depending on how long the wait for a boat is).:)

If you are going on your arrival night, and not a day you are at either Epcot or the Studios first, you probably don't want to take a boat. You would have to go to one of those parks first, walk to the boat dock and then take the boat. If you aren't going to a park first and you still want to take the boat, your best bet is to take a bus to DHS and then the boat from there. Unlike Epcot, you do not have to enter the Studios and use a park day on your ticket to get to the boat dock.

Thanks for the advice :) We actually planned good for that because I think we are going to do a short day at maybe animal kingdom since we will be at cornado, then get dinner a little later. we got a 6 day hopper pass for our 7 day trip because 1 day we will be at universal the whole day.
