Is there a shuttle from the San Pedro port to Disneyland? We won't be on a Dis Cruise. If so, does anyone know the cost for two? How about a shuttle from Disneyland to LAX?

Once at Disneyland, if we decide not to rent a car, are there tours up to Universal or Hollywood from the Disneyland area?
Thanks.

So do I assume that eveyone just uses disney's transport?

We are using a shuttle from LAX to San Pedro but not going to DL this time.
Sorry- can't help more.

I'm moving this to the DL Boards where you stand a better chance of getting the info that you're looking for. :)

I had also asked this on the DL boards..when I got no response, I thought it would do better on the cruise board..since it's the same port as the Disney cruise, and many people go to DL after their cruise. So, it's no longer on the cruise board? Darn.

Sorry for not responding sooner! I had seen your post, but hadn't gotten around to it yet

What we used (in September) was a Supershuttle Exclusive Van from San Pedro to our hotel (BW Anaheim Inn) it cost $107.00. BUT, this was a private van for four. Taking the shared van would be cheaper, I suspect. I tried to look up the price for you on Supershuttle's website, but I couldn't because it was from the pier, and not an airport. They will give you a price though, if you call them. Their number is: (800) BLUE-VAN (258-3826). The service we received was very good, and I'd recommend them comfortably. The next time we go, we won't get a private (exclusive) van. The vehicle was large enough, sharing wouldn't have been any problem, and we'd have had other Disney lovers to talk to.

The Disneyland Express was quite good too, and the price is $19 for adults and $16 for kids.

Hope this helps, and again...sorry for not replying sooner!

Thank you. Since my message was removed from the cruise board, for not being related, I assume Disney no longer cruises from there.

I did call Super Shuttle after reading your message, and they do not (or at least that's what the reservation person told me) pick up in San Pedro at the pier. But you were picked up at the San Pedro dock, right? I don't understand why, if there are so many cruise ships that dock there, why there isn't more transport to DL.
Thanks for responding.

Well that's really bizarre!!!

We got off the cruise ship (Diamond Princess, Sep 19th), went inside, through customs..down the escalator and outside. There were shuttles of several different kinds there and we certainly were shuttled...lol!

I have no idea why they told you they don't....maybe call back and try a different agent? Pretty weird if you ask me! I hope they weren't rude to you!

Unless you are uncomfortable driving in traffic you may want to consider renting a car. By the time you pay for shuttles from San Pedro to Disneyland, shuttles to Universal, and shuttles to LAX, you could probably rent a car for a week. When we travel I always check into public transportation and use it as often as it looks convenient. I would never even consider being at Disneyland without my own transportation, however, we live only about 140 miles away so have always had our own transportation.

Also, when you consider going to Universal, remember that while it is only around 35 miles away that could mean anywhere from a 40 minute to two hour drive or longer. The last time I drove from Anaheim to Burbank (about 36 miles) it took me a good two hours and I left Anaheim at around 1:00 p.m.

Thank you..looks like that will do the trick. I"ll be calling for prices tomorrow. The other shuttle service was nice enough, but insisted they didn't come from San Pedro to Disneyland.

We really aren't interested in renting a car this time. We want to see some of the area, without the driver having to miss it all.

It looks like there are several ways to get to Universal from DisneyLand, and it appears if you leave early, you usually get there in about an hour.

I just checked Prime Time Shuttle (called on the phone), and they offer transportation from San Pedro & Long Beach cruise ship terminals to the Disneyland Resort either via a shared van or private van. Here is the url for them for your convenience.

Well, we changed how we are doing this some..I think this will work.
Our cruise ship has an excursion from San Pedro for 5 hours of site seeing ofthe Hollywood area. We are taking that tour, and it will drop us at the airport when it's done.

From the airport we will get a shuttle to Disneyland and we are staying at Howard Johnsons (that's a great coupon Mousesavers has for 15% off the internet price!).

We plan on going the first night to Downtown Disney, then spending two days at Disneyland (we don't do any fast rides..will that be enough time?). We were told we could use our park hoppers from Disney World we have left over, although someone posted once that's not the smartest thing to do, since DW costs more. Any thoughts on that? I hate to spend money on two days worth of tickets, since we have a dozen or so days of park hoppers.

Then we hope to take a shuttle for a day to Universal..does anyone know if they do any taping there? Again, we're not big ride people, but I had heard they have more studio stuff than Florida..and that part we like.

Then we'll shuttle to the airport. Although we get a car each time we go to DW, I don't know that we're comfortable finding our way back and forth to LAX and Universal, and of course Disneyland.

Now, I just have to read up on what's different about DL compared to DW. We've been to DW 37 times, and I've got it pretty well memorized!
