Getting to Chef Mickeys from resort and/or park

We are scheduled to eat at Chef Mickey's for Dinner on one night at 7:00pm--we will be at MK that day. What is the best way to get to the Contemporary from MK and will be be able to see the fireworks from there better, or should we go back to MK to watch?

Another day we are scheduled to eat Breakfast at Chef Mickey's, and it is for 7:50. How can we get there from Pop, using Disney's transportation? Anyone know what time Disney transportation starts running, and if we can make it by then? We are going to Epcot that day, can we take the monorail from the Contemporary?

Sorry so many questions. I've never stayed on site OR done character meals.

Easiest way is to walk to the Contemporary from MK. You can take the monorail, but it's only about a 10 minute walk and there is a nice pathway. You can go back to MK, but I would suggest if you have time to take the monorail over to the Poly or GF and watch the fireworks from the beach. If you don't want to do that, you can go to the 4th floor of the Contemporary and there is an indoor viewing area. Or you can try going out to the Contemporary marina.

To get to the CR that early, you should probably take a taxi. I know, it's more money, but unless it's an early EMH day for MK, you probably won't get a bus much before 7:30 and that's cutting it too close. You could go out to the bus stop at around 7:00 and see if you get lucky, but if one doesn't come before 7:15, I'd call a cab. Now if it is EMH morning at MK, you should get a bus that early no problem. I have always had pretty good luck with busses, but that is a bit earlier than anything I have had.

To get to Epcot, you will need to take the monorail to the Transporation and Ticket Center from the Contemporary, then switch to the Epcot Monorail. Very easy to do.

No problem at all. Just hop on the MK bus at POP and walk to hef Mickeys from MK.

Thanks. I've heard the walk is around 5 minutes or so. I ask because 3 in our party have foot problems that have already been operated on or will be operated on shortly after the trip.

If you think walking would be a problem, you can take the monorail over to the Contemporary. But, it's really more than a 5 minute walk if you aren't walking briskly, so I would figure 10 minutes if you are walking slowly to compensate for the foot problems.
