Getting to Campfire from Pop

What's the best way to get to the campfire from Pop Century? Do the campfires still happen in December (the first week, right after thanksgiving)? We'll be with our 3 &5 yr olds so I don't know if it'll be too much traveling for them, but I think they'd get a kick out of it. (they don't know we're going yet.) They found this DVD at the library - Mickey's Sing Along Songs: Camp Out at WDW (or something like that) and we've watched it about 72 times. They're fascinated with FW so we thought this might be something fun for them to try. How difficult is it to get to the hay wagon rides as well? Do you have to make a reservation for them? Thanks a lot!

The campfire program is year round.

If you have a car, I would recommend driving to FW - go past the first entrance with the guard shack and go to the second entrance to the overflow lot. Then walk to the bus stop and take either the Orange or Yellow bus to the Meadows area. You can see the campfire program area from there. Just tell the bus driver where you want to get off and he/she will tell you when you arrive at the appropriate spot. On the orange bus, it will be the meadows trading post. On the yellow bus, it will be the 1500 loop.

Tx for the info - we won't have a car, we'll be doin' Disney transportation. I'm guessing a bus to a park or DTD then a bus to FW will be how we'd get there.

Yep, go to Magic Kingdom, then take a boat to Ft. Wilderness, then get on a Orange or Yellow bus to Meadows.

Upon returning if Magic Kingdom is still open, then take any bus to Settlement, then a boat to Magic Kingdom.

If Magic Kingdom is closed, then take any bus to Outpost, then swap to a bus to any open park or DTD

Thank you for this information! :goodvibes It is on our list of "must do's" during our 2008 WDW trip, and we are staying at Pop Century as well as the OP!

the wagon ride is first come first served, so being there 30 minutes prior will get you on the ride. it leaves near the HDDR.
