We'd like to get to Animal Kingdom from Magic Kingdom and/or EPCOT so we're wondering what's the best way. Is there a bus from each that would take us there? Or would it be best to go back to our resort (POR) and catch another bus there? We will have park hopper passes, and plan to spend most of our time at MK and EPCOT, and will go to AK for just a few of our favorite attractions so will, at the most, only spend 2-3 hours.

Yep!, there sure is a bus. At MK you will need to catch either the Monorail or Ferry to TTC and catch a bus from there.

you can get the bus. If you're at MK, take the monorail - either to Epcot and get the bus or to TTC and get the bus.

As mentioned, there is a direct bus to Animal Kingdom from Epcot. It is at the "front" of Epcot.

If you are at the "back" of Epcot,I would exit Epcot through the International Gateway("back entrance"),walk to the Beach Club and board an Animal Kingdom bus there.

From Magic Kingdom,I would walk to the Contemporary Resort and board an Animal Kingdom bus there.:)

At Epcot...if in the front of the park, take the bus that is out front with the other buses.
If in WS, I would head over to BC and take their bus to AK.
If at MK, I would walk over to the CR and take the bus to AK from there.

From the Magic Kingdom I would say to take the Express Monorail or boat to the TTC and get on the direct bus to the Animal Kingdom. Walking to the Contemporary and getting the bus from there is actually longer, because it also stops at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

From Epcot they have a direct bus to the Animal Kingdom which is located in the WDW bus area when you exit through Future World.

Anybody have an update to how things are now?

Is there a direct bus from outside the Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom now, or do we still have to go from to the TTC to pick up the animal kingdom bus?

There are now direct buses from MK to both DAK and DHS.:)

There's been direct bus service (meaning from gate to gate as opposed to going through the TTC) for I think a couple years now.

There is "direct" transportation between all the WDW theme parks.
The frequency of departure for each is approximately every 20 minutes, give or take, all day long.

Most routes are via Disney Buses.

Here are the "park-to-park" Disney Transportation direct connections:

MK> Epcot = Monorail to TTC, Switch to 2nd Monorail to Epcot
MK> DHS = Direct Bus
MK> AK= Direct Bus

AK> DHS= Direct Bus
AK> Epcot= Direct Bus
AK> MK= Direct Bus

DHS> MK= Direct Bus
DHS> AK= Direct Bus
DHS> Epcot= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.

The buses have their destinations shown on them on illuminated signs.
The bus stops at the parks are also marked with signage.

As a rule-of-thumb, allow 40-60 minutes to get from the gates of one park to the gates of another park.

Just a note.

It is not generally a good idea to dredge up a long-forgotten thread when asking for current info.
It confuses a lot of posters who see incorrect answers as part of the first few posts,
and makes for some unnecessary "corrections" to that long-outdated info.

Not a terrible problem.
Just confusing.

Thanks for this... I have a media park hoper and MNSSHP for the 18th, and I was going to spend most of my day at Magic Kingdom. I'm considering popping over to Animal Kingdom for a ride or two before MNSSHP party starts around that 4pm window when day guest and party guest are both in the parks.

I've always been told the 40-60 minute rule, and have been debating if its worth it. I will have my car with me, but I'm guessing direct park-to-park buses would be faster than going all the way back to the TTC, Tram, and then Tram and AK.

I see this now! Didn't want to start a new thread if things are already covered, but now I know to ask about what the CURRENT status of things are by starting a new thread and not confusing people (as I was).
