Getting ticket media without magic bands?

Got a question from a friend who just booked a March trip.

Since WDW wants us to do a contactless check in to our hotel, how do we get our pack tickets/passes without having bought magic bands?

Thanks, does that mean plastic tickets are not mailed in advance like MBs?

We have a trip planned in May 2021, it was originally for May 2020, so we were supposed to get MB's. Obviously since then the free MB's have been deleted. We have not gotten cards nor do we expect to. We will use old MB's and DS's will buy new ones when we get there. I think the only way to get your previously paid for plastic tix is at your resort or guest relations, but I'm sure someone will jump in if I'm incorrect !

Tickets are only mailed if you requested that upon check out when purchasing tickets.
If you don't have a magic band you can get a physical ticket which would also double as your room key at your resort or at will call at the parks.

Also remember you can use your phone to unlock the door through MDE

You can just show up and get in a regular line at the park entry. You will be issued a plastic card ticket when you get to the gate.
Bring along your ticket number/info (on your phone will be fine) and a legal ID.
