Getting through Security at MCO with SkyPriority

We've traveled through MCO many times, but this will be our first time with Delta SkyPriority access, which allegedly has a "designated frequent traveler priority security lane during peak times." MCO is shown as one of the airports with SkyPriority security. "When traveling from these cities, please look for Delta personnel to direct you to these lines."

• Our flight is at 7pm on a Sunday. My experience with MCO is that late afternoon on a Sunday is a busy period. Will there be a priority security lane?
• Does anyone know where this priority security lane may be for Terminal B? I assume it's not the same as the CLEAR nor the TSA precheck lanes?
• What is the recommended arrival time at MCO with SkyPriority? We are traveling very light as we are only going for 3 days, so we will not be checking bags.

I'm curious about this. I live in Orlando and fly Delta regularly, where I'm Gold. I've never seen a sky priority lane for TSA.

While I see this mentioned on the Delta website, not clear to me how it would work. I doubt every airline can start offering some other 'expedited' way through security without causing all sorts of confusion/issues. Security screening is handled by TSA, not each airline and either you go through the regular line or purchase TSA pre-check/CLEAR for domestic travel.

The Delta website is vague on the actual details. If is only used during 'peak times' seems to me you can't depend on that option always being available. Someone who has actually used it recently perhaps can post about what their experience was.

I've never seen the airline elite security lines at MCO, but it does appear they have them. My guess is that it would be all the way to the right when you're facing the security checkpoint from the Disney store. It won't say SkyPriority, it will say something like airline security as it's shared with other airlines including SW. How it usually operates is that it's one of the edge document checkers that will take any airline elites but takes general public if no one is in the elite line.
There isn't a specific checkpoint for Terminal B. The two checkpoints are both shared by both terminals based on which pod the airline uses. Delta uses the North checkpoint, under the hotel, along with SW and a couple of other smaller operations.
Correct it is not the same as Pre or CLEAR. If you don't have it already I would highly recommend getting and using Pre rather than SkyPriority.
Recommended arrival time is an intensely personal decision based on risk tolerance and perceived value in being somewhere other than the airport. My personal choice would be to be at the airport no less than two hours before the flight, so I would be aiming for 2.5 hours to give me a buffer. If SkyPriority is operating, it's going to lower the amount of time in line to get to the document checker, but won't shorten the amount of time the actual screening takes.

My DD flies out of New York's La Guardia and and uses Sky Priority. She also has Global Entry/ TSA Precheck. She says that out of LGA Sky Priority is much faster. While I can't help you at MCO I would definitely ask the ticketing agent where it is and use it if it were an option for me.

That is correct. SkyPriority will appear on the boarding pass if eligible. Just trying to figure out what is available at MCO.

In most airports, I tend to find TSA Pre faster, so it varies. Even if not faster, not having to take things out of my bag, makes TSA Pre happier. I have found TSA Pre hit-or-miss in LGA, specifically.

All priority lanes go together, so if the security line serves gates for multiple airlines/alliances, they all use the same priority line. Also, Sky Priority includes any SkyTeam with the equivalent priority level (I have it through Air France, for example), so it really isn't as limited as you might think.

And especially true at MCO, dealing with people that seem to have never flown before and hold everything up.
I found a thread on FlyerTalk saying that they opened a SkyPriority lane at MCO in 2012, but from the description it sounds like the same area that is now used for ClearReserve, I posted and asked if still exists, I will report back if I get a response.

When we flew out of MCO in May I did not see a SkyPriority lane. We were flying First Class/Delta 1 to LHR and when we checked in there was no mention of a special skyPriority lane for security.

I haven't seen a priority entrance for MCO security. They have Clear Reserve, which allows anyone to reserve a time for free, and the normal Clear and Precheck lanes you see at any airport. Precheck is usually very fast at MCO, so use that if you have it.
