I have been lurking on this thread for some time know. I just fell in love with the DISigners and and their creations . It inspired me so much that I want to learn how to design. Can someone give me some advice and pointers on how to get started? I know nothing about it :confused3 but I am very eager to learn :teacher: . Thank you for all your help.

I know exactly what you mean. I love all these disigns. The disigners have so much talent. I too want to learn how to do what they are doing.

...It will just have to wait till spring break as I well let my school work slide and try my hand in disign. So in a few weeks (end of Middle/end of March) I will have questions myself.

I lurked for about 2 years until I decided I wanted to do it! I bought Photoshop Elements at Costco. About $70. I registered at their site and took advantage of their free video tutorials. They were so helpful that I paid about $35 to take video classes from their website. I'd say $105 makes for a pretty cheap hobby. :lmao:

A couple things that I always try to remember......

:wizard: Design for yourself......
if you are doing this as a hobby then it needs to be fun and stress free!

:woohoo: Don't be afraid to experiment.....
there are very few (almost no) things that can't be undone. Try different filters, color combinations, textures, sizes, etc. You can't learn something and be good at it if you never have tried it!!

:cool2: Find your own style....
having a style does not mean that everything will look the same. If you are comfortable with your style then you will like your designs. Creating something is a process that should make you happy!

Another Tip:

Find the biggest graphics you can, you can always make graphics smaller (shrink them down) and not distort the image.

If you try to enlarge the graphics (even just a little) they will get blurry (pixelated) or not as clear.

The secret to a good design is clear graphics! In my humble opinion!

I'll second that! :thumbsup2
