Ok I'm fat - I can use all the coy names in the book, but I'm fat and slowly working on not being fat (I've lost 30lbs since last January)... that said I lose weight slowly (Diabetes can do that to a girl) so I want to know about some specific rides for our trip next May...

At somewhere between 300 and 320lbs which of these rides can I manage? I don't mind if things are a bit tight.

If there are any that will be a problem - what size do you think I need to aim for at a minimum in order to squeeze in?

IOA:

Spider Man
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Jurassic Park Discovery Center
Poseidon’s Fury
The Harry Potter Attractions
and maybe the Cat in the Hat ride and the little trains in Seuss Landing.

US:

Twister
Revenge of the Mummy
Shrek 4 D
Disaster: Starring You!
Jaws
Beetle Juice’s Graveyard Review
Fear Factor Live
E.T. Adventure
Animal Actors on Location
The Simpson’s Ride

Thank you in advance

Out of your list, the only issues I can see are: (maybe) Cat in the Hat, High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train ride and Mummy. There's a test seat out front to give it a try first tho.

That said...congrats and good luck on getting yourself healthy
:thumbsup2

Revenge of the Mummy has the back row for larger guests because of the leg room. I doubt it will be an issue and riding in the back row on a coaster isn't always a bad thing. ;)

Thanks! How much do you think I might need to lose if I wanted to ride the Cat in the Hat?

It's not so much the roller coaster aspect I'm interested in (roller coasters make me a little nauseous.) - more like I'm willing to put up with that part for the experience surrounding it.... will I miss much in the back?

:) You will miss out on nothing at all .
The ride feel on Mummy is not very different in any seat it is a big 10-12 seat single car ride ,unlike a multicar train type roller coaster.

Some people prefer to ride in the back of a roller coaster because it changes the feel of the ride giving you the feeling of being alittle more out of control and whippy like.

ps: Congratulation on your terrific progress keep up the good work

Wow. That's a question I really don't know how to answer? :confused3

The couches have 1 huge pulldown bar...bench seat. I don't know where you carry your weight, so it's hard to say. If in the hips, you'd probably be okay. If it's in the belly, that's where the problem would be.

That said...I think you'd still be okay tho. I say give it a shot because you don't want to miss it if you CAN ride it :thumbsup2 There is a quick getaway at the loading area if you would need it.

Good luck!

Possible , somewhat spoiler alert
I tried to keep the discriptions vague if you want a more descriptive car / seat design with a yes or no can I ride answer PM me

IOA:

Spider Man = 6 bench seat car 3 front 3 back
Jurassic Park River Adventure = bench seat with a bench type lap bar tight quarters leg and waist,I've seen some decent size people on it but the lap bar can be restricting =don't let that sway you away ask a cast member
Jurassic Park Discovery Center = don't know
Poseidon’s Fury - walk thru no seating
The Harry Potter Attractions = no one knows YET
and maybe the Cat in the Hat ride 4 car bench 2 front 2 back with room
and the little trains in Seuss Landing. not sure of the room I don't ride it
US:

Twister = walking through standing experiance
Revenge of the Mummy = didn't know of the larger seat in the back /Have funShrek 4 D = sit down theater / movie experiance roomy ok seatingDisaster: Starring You!
Jaws = bench seat ride plenty of room
Beetle Juice’s Graveyard Review = bench seat? play /stage show
Fear Factor Live don't know bench seats maybe
E.T. Adventure 6 seats 3 front 3 back seprate t bar lap bars
Animal Actors on Location
The Simpson’s Ride tight quarters but the car seats 6 - 3 in front and 3 in the back

Actually, Spiderman has 3 rows...4 across.
JPDC is walk around/thru
Suess Trolley is SMALL. Tiny leg room and 2 seats across. Bar that comes down on you like a coaster (because that's technically what it is...a slow moving coaster)

Disaster! is walk-thru show and ride at end. Plenty of room. No bars...like a tram.
Beetlejuice has bleachers for show.
Fear Factor is same as is Animal Actors.
ET is a bike you sit on w/ lapbar. 3 across...i thought 3 rows? not sure...don't really pay attention.
I thot Simpson's fit 4 across? Either way..yes..2 rows.

At about 250 lbs you should be able to fit on everything without issues including the big fun coasters.

Like PP said it depends where you carry weight but I am 6 ft and when I was about 250 I had no problems.

The water ride(Dudley) was rly rly tight and even being 150 I don't think I want to go on again. As for your list... I think at 275 you can fit on everything on there. I would avoid the front row of JP River ride because of the leg room.

I am in same boat as you tryin to get down to get back into worry free vacation mode so GL with your weight loss.

Edit - http://allears.net/tp/ridz_ioa.htm This might be a good site for you to look over as well. Helped me to look at with my vacation a cpl yrs ago.

Just to add a bit more information:
Jurassic Park Discover Center is a walk through...no ride there.
The High in the Sky Trolley Train...it's gonna be tight...very tight.
The Simpsons...very tight
Fear Factor...metal bleachers...no problem
Animal Actors...metal bleachers...no problem
E.T....tight but doable
Revenge of the Mummy...no special seating but the back row has more leg room
Dragon's Challenge & Hulk...doable...modified seating out front to test
Flight of the Hippograff...if it's the same train as before, this will be tight but doable.

I'm right around your weight, and I'm 5'6", so I can help. I carry most of my weight in the tummy area.

IOA:

Spider Man - lap bar - you're ok
Jurassic Park River Adventure - lap bar - you're ok
Jurassic Park Discovery Center - walk-through - no seating
Poseidon’s Fury - walk through - no seating
The Harry Potter Attractions - don't know - and I'm afraid to ask
and maybe the Cat in the Hat ride and the little trains in Seuss Landing. - no problem on either of these. Both have lap bars - no problem

US:

Twister - walk through - no seating
Revenge of the Mummy - tight squeeze. Ask for a larger seat & still might be tight.
Shrek 4 D - seating like a theater. May be narrow, but you'll be ok.
Disaster: Starring You! - tram ride - no restraints at all
Jaws - no restraints at all
Beetle Juice’s Graveyard Review - bench seating - no restraints
Fear Factor Live - don't know - have never been
E.T. Adventure - handle bar pulls down, you're ok. The bike seat is a little uncomfortable, though.
Animal Actors on Location - stadium seating - no restraints.
The Simpson’s Ride - cushioned lap bar. May be a little tight, but you'll be ok.

The ones that I have ridden on, I had no problem. You may have different experiences, but this can be a guideline for you. To avoid any problems at the Mummy, check the seat in the front of the ride. They have a test seat in front of the Hulk as well.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most reports regarding Harry pottr and the Forbidded journey are saying that anyone who is taller than 6'3 and MOST people who weigh more than about 250 lbs are having issues being able to fit in the seats. Apparently there is no bigger seat option.

Sorry!

See the post below that I copied from the Harry Potter size thread:

I am one person who couldn't fit. I am 5ft 6in and o nly 225 lbs. But weight is in belly and butt. DH has belly and no butt. He fit fine and is 5ft 7in.
