If you were about to add on at SSR would you buy 150 and ask for a December use year?

Is having a December use year any better than having one that would give us our first set of SSR points next year?

What am I missing here?

Thanks

The December use year is currently sold out.

If you are adding on, through Disney, they will only sell you points with the same use year that you already have.

Actually I have a June UY at HH and VWL. I just added SSR. I asked for a Dec. UY. I was told I could, but they wouldn't recommend it. Becuase it would get complicated when banking and borrowing came in to play. So I decided to go with June after all. I think the only time you have to go with the same UY is when you add on at a resort you already have a contract with.

Just talked to my guide.

He said we could have December. Of course, we would have to buy a master contract with at least 150 points.

We will probably stick with our use year.

I was just curious about all of the questions surrounding the Dec. use year but even my guide didn't know the answers.

Good move.......it will be better for the long run to keep track of your pts for banking and borrowing.;)

When you purchase a December use year at SSR you receive December 2003 points. You do not have to pay any maintenance fees on those points at all. You then receive a full 50 years worth of points from December 2004 to December 2053. So...a December use year will get you an extra years worth of points (with no maintenance fees).

The only negative (which is not much of a negative) is that your prorated dues for 2004 are charges from May (opening month) instead of December (use year) because your first use year was technically December 2003.

It helps to count the years on your fingers. Nobody receives points in 2054.

Since dues are paid on a calendar year basis, one who buys a Dec use year will get half a year of free dues on those points (Dec-April), assuming closing 1 May. The dues paid in May will be for 7 months of the 2003 points and 1 month of the 2004 points.

Yes, December is SOLD OUT. The contract I just signed is for a February use year.

They usually rotate the month they are selling to new members. They usually go by the 100% banking window but it's probably different with SSR since it's a pre-sale. As they build additional buildings, Dec should be available again. Plus they probably held some back for add-ons by current members.
