Okay... We took Chloe to the vet today to get her shots for our trip. Well she got all her shots and the vet asked where we were going and I said to Fla and wanted to make sure she had all her shots. The vet said she was all set except if she was going to CT:confused: . Now I know it's a tough crowd in CT at the Disney Store on Sat... But man!!! (It was for Lyme)

That's right Nat! CT is a tough place!! Ask Peggie how tough Lyme Disease is...

And BTW...the Lyme Disease vaccine is not required in CT, but it is recommended if you live in an area with alot of ticks. I have three doggies and none of them have had the vaccine.

Nat You should tell you vet they now "recommend" Lyme shots for pets in Mass also.
My understanding from her is they my require this soon in most NE states as an addendum to rabies.

Nat,
I have 2 dogs and my vet has never told me about the Lyme vaccine. I of course never asked, two dogs, and 4 cats leaves little in the wallet for more vaccines.
I had Lyme disease two summers ago. I had to take the antibiotics for 2 weeks then another type for 4 more weeks because the first didn't take care of those little worm like spirochettes. I have some residual knee problems, like minor arthritis so I am lucky.
My friend Richie has had Lyme since 1998 and has had a very tough time. Lost his business in Stamford, had to retire and is now on permanant disability.
But I would not recommend the Lyme Vaccine for humans. I have heard that it cause long term Arthritis symptoms which could debilitate you down the line. THe chances of getting bitten by a tick are less than the chance of having the vaccine symptoms.
Check with your Dr about the animal vaccine. If it will cause arthritis in animals you may want to just try and check your dog more often for ticks if they are outside alot.

All this talk about Lime disease makes me really nervous. Does it only affect lime trees or does it affect all citrus? I have a Lemon tree that has many of the symptoms that you describe. Its branches are drooping and it looks like it is in pain. I tried talking to it but all I got was stares from the neighbors. I thought about calling a tree doctor but I just don't know if that will help. If he incorrectly diagnoses arthritis, does that make it arthwrongis?

I think I found the problem, I shut off the water to the sprinkler. My fault. Sorry, move along, nothing to see here but a tree getting a drink.
