How much better is the traffic from 6AM - 9AM on a Sunday as opposed to a weekday?

The traffic should be much lighter on a Sunday morning than any other day of the week.

Since you are coming from the north headed south, their usually is not much of a difference except in the summer weekends. At that time, 6 to 9 during the week, the traffic is headed north. On Saturday mornings, the HOV lanes are usually headed south, if they are and you have 3 passengers I would take that. We always listen to the traffic report on the 8's, 103.5 FM.

During the week there is a lot of a.m. traffic heading south from Balt on both 95 and the BW parkway. The beltway is a mess either way too.

OP, Sunday is much a better day to travel around DC
