We are sailing on the Dream on 5/30 with my parents and my sister and her family, 9 of us in all. We are all staying at the Residence Inn the night before we sail. Any ideas how we get to the ship from the hotel if we have an 11:00 Port Arrival time? Does the hotel shuttle leave at a scheduled time? Can we get a cab from there? Any other suggestions? TIA

How are you getting to the hotel?

It was a few years ago, but we had a party of eight. We live in Florida and drove to Residence Inn. We did the park and cruise package where we left our cars at the hotel while we cruised on a seven night cruise. We took the hotel shuttle to the port and back. If I recall correctly we made reservations for our shuttle time through the front desk at check in. I'm not certain if you can call ahead and set this up. We did arrive at the port on the first shuttle. I know we had to wait to board the ship after we checked in. Our PAT was 11 am if that helps. We were in group four to board. The whole process was very easy. We lucked out and a shuttle was waiting when we got off the ship. If not we were given a number to call for pick up. Honestly, I would do this again as the process was very easy for us.

I forgot to mention that we will be doing a one way rental car from Orlando to the hotel

The Residence partner with a local bus company. The size of the shuttle and number depend on the number of port passengers booked so no issue with that. The first shuttles leave early enough so your PAT is good.

They charge per person so if cost is an issue you may want to compare costs with Cocoa Beach Shuttle and 888-Transport - these both offer larger private shuttles so your group (and luggage) can travel together!

For all 9 people? Is the rental car drop off at the hotel? Have you thought about dropping off the rental car the morning of the cruise and taking the rental car shuttle?

Are rental car shuttles reliable? This was my plan in Dec.

We've used them on 3 different cruises out of PC. Based on that experience, I would say yes, they are. However, during busy times, you may have to wait a bit. But the drivers work hard and the distances between the rental car agencies and the port is minimal.

I might return the rental car early morning and then using a private shuttle. We have 6 in our party and I don't feel like dropping them at the port then returning the car. I feel that 6 plus luggage is a bit much for the rental shuttle. We did private shuttle for our party of 15 a year and a half ago from a hotel in PC, it worked very well.

I just checked things out. We are staying at the Radisson in PC and renting from Budget. I'll take the car back early morning and walk back, it's a block away. Well either take the shuttle from the hotel or private transportation. We are staying two nights at the Radisson pre-cruise. Once the cruise is over we will likely load into the budget shuttle for our return rental.

Agreed. Since you have the rental, one person drops the other 8 off and then returns the rental and takes the shuttle back. There is a Hertz right next door to the Residence Inn. I've done this and it only took me half an hour to drive back, return the car and get the shuttle back.
