DS and I are flying down and my sister is driving over from St Pete to stay with us a few days. We have a BWV on exchange through RCI. She may arrive before us but cannot check in as the ressie is in my name. I know that I can get a parking pass the for parks when I arrive, but is there any way she could get it to use earlier that day? Or could she give them our ressie info at the gate to just park at the resort and then bus or boat to the park she is visiting that day? Would like to save her a few bucks if possible.

Thanks,
Tammy

No, you'll need to check in to get the parking pass. Put her on the reservation and she can check in and get the parking pass. But if you do the dining plan, you'll have to pay for her as well.

If she is staying with you, her name needs to be on the reservation. Or she won't have a KTTW card. And she can't check when she arrives unless her name is on the res either. Not to mention it's illegal to be an un-registered guest.

I had not yet added her to the ressie because I did not know if she was coming at the beginning or end of the week. I figured if she arrived after me I would just let them know at the desk when she arrived and get her key then. We do not have any type of package or dining plan. It is my understanding that because this is a DVC ressie made through RCI exchange that the person checking in must be the one listed on the paperwork submitted by RCI (and she is not a member). If I add her to the ressie now, will she be able to get into the resort parking by giving both of our names?

I believe if you added her name to the res, she would be able to get a parking pass. When you booked with RCI did they ask you the names of all party staying in the room?
Sorry, I just know when booking regularly with Disney they ask for all names of people staying in the room, and then anyone listed on res. can check in, get parking pass, KTTW card, etc.

RCI does not ask. I call the DVC desk before my trip to add Magical Express and give them the names of who will be staying at that time.

1) You need to check-in to get the parking pass.
2) At some resorts, you get the pass at the guard desk before check-in.
. . . at some resorts, the pass is printed the night before
. . . all the passes are given to the guard at approx 4:00am
. . . the guard then gives to the car when they arrive
. . . extra passes can be acquired at Front Desk at check-in or later
3) But, that guard czar pass for the person named on the ressie.
4) Not everyone on ressie, but the person for whom the ressie is made.
