Not that I like a sick kid any time, mind you, but I'm glad DD6 is getting her illnesses over with (pray to God, cross fingers, etc.) before our trip, two weeks from today. :worship:

This school year she has been so healthy! Only one minor cold this Fall and nothing at all until the past month. Three wknds ago, she had the stomach flu (like our whole school district seems to have had) then the following week she got a bad cold/cough. Now this morning at six she wakes up crying because her throat really hurts. So we'll be off to urgent care when it opens soon to rule out strep or get antibiotics.

You know, with a sick kid for three weeks straight, a very cold and snowy Winter here in Mn, and what has seemed like a long two months as a teacher with 7th graders hitting adolescence....I'M READY FOR DISNEY WORLD AND A VACTION!!!! :cool1:

Had to share...I know you parents can relate ::yes:: thanks!

I feel your pain! 3 kids and we are on our second round of strep in a month. Have one getting sick today. Also, I have a 7th grade daughter and I don't know how you teachers have the strength to put up with them and their hormones all day. And we have had a few stomach bugs and an ear infection in between the strep.. Hope everyone is well for the trip!
I laughed when you wrote parents can relate. The One Direction song "Story of my LIfe" that is played at my house constantly came to mind and that it would have a totally different version if it was the story of a parent's life. Especially those cold, sickly winter months. A very funny parody of that could be made.

:rotfl: EXACTLY!!!!

And yup, she's got strep :sad2: so on amoxicillin for the next 10 days...just 4 days short of our trip so won't have to drag meds around. On Fb my cousin reminded us of their surprise trip to WDW for their girls two years ago when her 4 yr old came down with strep 2 days before the trip and had to get a shot. Then two days into the trip both girls got the norovirus and they had to spend one day in the hospital hydrating the 4 yr old. Could always be worse, right??!! :confused3
