On our first cruise we got off and walked around Nassau a little bit. I didn't feel like there was much to see. I am from the New Orleans area and I felt like I was in the French Quarter! The weather was bad that day and I was so thankful we hadn't booked any excursions! I am cruising again with my bestie in October and I am trying to decide if we should visit or just stay on the ship.
So, my question is....What is your favorite thing to do in Nassau?
Thanks!

We enjoyed the Atlantis tour and beach time, Greycliffe Chocolatier and the Glass Bottom boat. On our upcoming cruise, we will stay on board though and pretend it is a sea day :)

I never thought of the comparison between Nassau and New Orleans before, but you're probably right.

However, Nassau is safer, cleaner, and smells less like urine than New Orleans.

We enjoyed the Pirate Museum and Greycliff Chocolatier. We wanted to go by the Rum Distillery, but ran out of time.

We did the Junkanoo Tour and enjoyed it. Getting away from the actual port area (cheap vendor stalls) was nice. Next time I think we may do the Chocolate Tour. Then we might start thinking about staying onboard for subsequent cruises.

Terrific comparison.

Only thing we have liked doing in Nassua is the chocolate factory tour. But if we're ever in Nassau again we'll take a taxi to Greycliff and just buy a bunch of chocolate that THEY make. Much better.

If you want to get off the ship, have a plan of exactly what you want to do and how to get there. Then get back on the ship. It seems that is what most people do.
