hiya
well we are nearing our time to go-well sort of !but i need to think about booking train tickets to get to london so my questions are
what time do you recommend getting into kings cross by -we are leaving on the normal eurostar which is i think somwthing like 9.35 am and i assume you have to be there 30 mins prior for check in - we are in peterborough so are on the mainline to kings cross 1hr journey but obviously have to get from k/cross to waterloo which we were going to get a cab just for ease and not losing one of the kids on the tube!!!!
my next question is about cafe mickey
there is 5 in our party but we are going the same week as a friend of ours so thought we could arrange to have dinner in cafe mickey one eve ,in total the party would be 10 5 adults 5 kids ,do have to have a character meal or could you book just to eat there off the menu and still get the character interaction?
we went last time for c/breakfast but it was inc in our booking so didn`t really think much about it ,this time i am trying to avoid paying the so much per head for character meal as my dd and youngest ds will eat hardly anything and my friends two kids are very small eaters so it would seem a waste
thanks in advance

I not sure if I fully understand your question. You do not have to book the character meal from the brochure. If you book a reservation your self you will still get the character interaction, and for your children you could order a meal to share for them.

i knew i wouldn`t ask it properly!!so you can still eat there from the menu with character visits without paying a price per head?!!just pay for what you order?sorry being thick here but i thought maybe it was somewhere where the price was per head only !!
its all the xmas baileys messing with my brain!

Hi there,
We went to DLP on the direct train in june and had to change at Lille on our second trip last week. Must say, the direct train is fab, you get on at Waterloo and get off in DLP. Absolutely hated changing the train so next time we go, it'll be the direct one:thumbsup2

Anyway, the train from Waterloo leaves at 9.35am and you should be there at least 30mins earlier. As we live in London, we're really used to the tube and the buses but like you say, I'd take a cab just to avoid the rush hour on the puvlic transport. If I were you, I'd aim to be at Kings X around 8am depending on the day you'll travel, and then slowly make a move towards Waterloo. If you're early, you can have a coffee at the train station but at least you won't be late. ;)

Re: Cafe Mickey. We ate there both times we went to DLP and loved it! For me, CM is the best place to eat in the Village, the food is nice. Yes, its pricey but it's lovely to see all the characters come to say hello. Both times we booked the table (I called France directly and made the booking) before hand and didn't ask to have a meal with the characters. I think you'll have to pay if you want a character meal. But you can also dine there without the characters which is what we did. The characters are there anyway so you'll see them. My daughter was really excited to see Minnie Mouse:cloud9:

Have a fantastic time.

yes, you just pay at the restaurant for what you order.:) you still get the same experience as some one who has paid per head in advance.

The characters are not at cafe mickey between 3pm and 6.30pm however if you eat at this time you will still pay amount the same as when the character are there.

You don't have to pre pay to book a "character meal", just make a reservation for the times you want to eat like you would at any other restaurant.

thanks for all-i knew someone would have the answers,i thought as its my friends first time then a meal at cm had to be done and it would be nice for us all to get together then, and i cannot wait to get the direct train,w drove last time and it was a looong journey!!!
