Getting my Free Dining back?

I was originally scheduled to be at WDW starting on Monday (9/11 - 9/20). But, thanks to Irma, we had to reschedule for 10/9 - 10/18. In my original trip i was lucky enough to score Free Dining. Since I had to reschedule, I lost Free Dining. My Dreams Unlimited TA was not able to get it included for our rebooking. My question is. Since I booked through Dreams, would I be wasting my time trying to get in touch with a WDW CSM and seeing if they would honor my Free Dining since my cancellation was out of my control? I don't want to be on the phone for hours if it's all for nothing. But, if there's a chance, I'd be willing to try. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Free dining was offered 8/21 - 9/30, 11/14 - 11/20, 11/25 - 11/27 and 12/8 - 12/23.
Unless your reschedule day of arrival falls within these dates you can get free dining. Free dining WAS NOT offered for any dates in October.

Disney policy says outright that they won't move your discounts in this scenario.

Hurricane rebooking is not considered something where Disney has to "make it right." It's an act of God.

Any discounts or special offers applicable to your original confirmed vacation will not apply to the rescheduled vacation travel dates. You are responsible for applicable package pricing for the new vacation dates.

Disney has already suspended that policy because of Irma and many people were able to get their original package at a later date

We are going in October (14th-22nd) and we have free dining.
I think it would be worth calling Disney to ask. The worst they can say is no, it's worth a shot.

Did you reschedule?

Are you from the US? I know UK and Canada have different dates for free dining.

Your travel agent owns the reservation until your travel starts. Is unlikely Disney will talk to you about the trip, but you could be persistent with your agent.

Your Dreams agent would have to make that call. They own the reservation so Disney will not be able to talk to you.

You won't be able to get free dining if your dates were moved to October. As PP's noted, free dining wasn't offered to US residents in October, so you would not be able to switch your dates to October and maintain the discount.

Anyone claiming they have free dining in October is not a resident of the US. October dates fell within the UK offer.

I think next time I will book with Disney directly to avoid this kind of thing.

I know it may be frustrating not being able to speak with WDW directly about this, but I'm guessing your TA was on the phone for hours just to switch this reservation for you.

You're right. She worked hard for us and I do appreciate it.

Travel agents lost their commissions for the cancelled reservations. So they get nothing for all the work they had done, including hours on the phone cancelling rooms, tickets, dining. If you reschedule with them, they would get commission for that reservation after you checkout.
