Hi all

I am not having a disney wedding but i am getting married @ 3pm on 3rd July in Orlando. I am from the UK and have never been to florida so not sure about the weather patterns but a few have said it rains practically every afternoon in Florida in July. Could anyone advise? I am so worried that my outdoor wedding will be a washout. If i was to change the time of the ceremony what would be the best time?

Thanks

There is a lot of rain in the summer but from what I have seen it will last like an hour then the sun will come out and the weather will be great again. So it maybe more on luck then anything. I am getting married in July as well i really want to do it outside but my dad is afraid it will be to hot for my grandma to be outside. So theweather is a challenge for sure.

Welcome and congratulations on your wedding! I've lived in Orlando for 10 years and would not want to have an afternoon ceremony in July. It rains almost every day in July sometime between 1 and 4 pm. Before it rains the sky can get quite dark and nasty and really bad lightening can start long before the rain comes, making it scary to be outside. Yes, the shower is usually brief, but while you would think it cools down a bit after the storm it doesn't. It actually becomes more sticky and humid. Could you maybe do a morning ceremony? It doesn't usually get stormy until the afternoon and it would also be a little bit cooler in the morning.

We got married in July and it rained on our wedding day but it didn't ruin it. I was worried at one point as the heavens opened just as we were going to leave for the ceremony but it stopped when we needed it to.

Rain is good luck on your wedding day :cool1:

Thanks for everyone's replies. I am in talks with my wedding co-ordinator to change the time. do you think 12 or 1 would be ok? Obviously there is no guarantees with the weather in florida but i would just like to lessen the odds of it raining throughout my ceremony.

Thanks

We got married at 2.30 and it rained in the morning on our wedding day and when I was being collected which must have been about 2.

Was the rain on for long? I am asking my co-ordinator to change it to either 12 or 1. I really wished i had went for an indoor wedding ceremony, would have saved a whole lotta hassle!

It was on and off in the morning but it was light and didn't bother me. When I was in the GF lobby it was a big storm but it ended by the time we got to the pavilion. Say about 15 minutes max. To be honest when I was in England planning I did worry about the rain but on the day it didn't worry me, I was glad it did rain as it kept us all cool for a bit.

It could rain any time during the day, but usually not for long. More likely in the afternoon- early morning is the best bet to miss it.

It's not really the rain, it's the heat. It is sweltering here in July, so 10am may be a better option before the HOT afternoon sets in! :)
