Getting magic bands earlier

MDE says our magic bands are supposed to ship 12/29 for a trip at late January. Ideally, I'd love to get them before Christmas so they can go under the tree. Does anyone know if there's a way to request that they be sent out earlier than usual?

I'm in the same boat as you. I emailed guest relations and this was the response I got:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We are glad that you and your family are excited about your upcoming trip to Disney, and we understand your desire to receive your MagicBands® in time to give your family some Disney magic on Christmas morning. The complimentary MagicBands® that you will receive as part of your Resort stay are processed 30 days before your check-in date, and generally arrive two to two and a half weeks before that date. Due to logistical necessity, that timeline is fixed.

As an alternate, we recommend that you take a look at the Disney Store for other potential Christmas surprises that would be a great way to reveal your upcoming trip. It is possible to purchase other MagicBands®, including special limited edition MagicBands® with unique graphics. MagicBand accessories, such as MagicBandits and MagicSliders, are also available from the Disney Store: MagicBand Accessories

You can also search our Personalization Shop on the Disney Store website to see gift ideas that can have names added to them, such as clothing and fleeces: Personalized Gifts

Since there's no way to get them to move the date up, we bought DD a character MB to give her.

No you can't request them any sooner.

You could however purchase one from the Disney Store website if you don't mind spending the extra money.
Today is the last day for free shipping for park items if you're interested. I would assume magic bands would be counted in that discount.

Why not just buy some small, Disney travel-related items that you would use on your trip? Autograph books, ponchos, pins, t-shirts, etc.

Can someone else confirm if this would work for OP, as I'm not 100% sure but from what I understand it will work.

1. Book 1 night stay at any Disney hotel for late December on same MDE account as late January stay.
2. Personalize 1 night stay magic bands. This will be processed late November and be delivered early/mid December.
3. As soon as you receive the magic bands, cancel the 1 day reservation and get a refund (6 day notice required for online reservations) . ALSO, go into your late January reservation and decline magic bands (since Disney already sent you some).

This way Disney still just ships out 1 set of magic bands, OP gets them before Christmas, and you didn't even have to bother anyone with a call as it was all done on the computer.

The magic bands you receive for the 1 night stay will work for the late January trip since magic bands are linked to the MDE account.

That should work. The only thing the OP needs to be aware of with that is that they will be charged at the time of booking for that one night stay. They will get it back when they cancel, as room-only reservations can be cancelled and refund given as long as the cancellation is done 6 or more days before check-in (if you cancel any closer to check-in than that the deposit is lost).

If you use a dummy MDE account you can use the bands for SDFPs.
