Getting Jaded by Going Too Often?

The more we go, the more we enjoy just "being there". Sometimes we do hardly any attractions but enjoy the shopping, dining, and the beauty of the property. I think the experience becomes different over time, but no less enjoyable. :earsboy:

Yes you can get jaded. Now we go for the festivals and special events. We love live entertainment. Last year we saw the Beach Boys, the year before Arlo Guthrie, sometime before that Barrage (the violin group). We love the music entertainment of Canada, Britain etc. We rarely go on rides. I love going without our sons - much more relaxing.

Just makes me and DD want more. 2004 was the year of the most trips for us.
6 trips
DD & I (once alone, once with DH and others with various family members usually my mom)
Just got back Dec 13 and I already have ressies for June 10. Would go before if possible but I do not think it will be with work and DD's school.

Also, I have been at least 4 times a year since it opened, often more. There is still new things to do and see. Sometimes I do not think I will ever "do it all" but that is ok because I can keep trying. :D

Hi Bill.........Welcome Back! You visited two of my favorite places in WDW......Jellyrolls and The Adventurers Club! Both places are just so much fun. Last time we were at Jellyrolls, my face hurt from laughing so much. :rotfl:

I have not become jaded by our frequent trips (Seven trips in the last three years.) Every single time we go, we find new things to do! We also stay at different resorts, and really enjoy the ammenities there. Last August we stayed at the Poly, and spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool. It was like a south seas vacation! We also did the Illuminations and Wishes cruises with some Dis people, and rented mouse racers for the first time. Next month we are trying the Wilderness Cabins, and going to see Hoop.

There are still so many things I have yet to do at WDW, and now as an AP holder, I take my time and just enjoy every moment!

I haven't gotten jaded yet either, but due to taking new folks with us each trip, we still go more commando mode that relax mode. Although going with Dad and now Dad/aunt/uncle, all seniors, are a lot more relaxed than when I take my granddaughter.

I also have a new granddaughter that I can't wait to take to WDW. I'm going to wait until she's about two and out of diapers though.

We go at least once a year up to one time going 5 times in 15 months. Between last June and this June we will have 4 times. And I agree with many of the posts. Going that much lets us slow down and enjoy the coffee so to speak.

We can go during busier times of the year and not care if we don't get to ride Space Mtn cause we know we'll be going back soon. We also see/experience things the average WDW visitor doesn't, like sitting in the square in Germany for an hour admiring the architecture and watching kids play in the fountain. Or sitting on Tom Sawyers island enjoying the shade watching the Haunted Mansion. Or riding ToT 3 times in a row due to some lucky fast pass handling and joking with the cast member named Vlad (Vlad the Impaler was a ruler in the Romania region of Europe centuries ago who was the inspiration for Dracula because he liked....well you know), whose name just seemed to fit ToT. We still haven't figured out if that was his real name. If you read this and know Vlad, throw us a bone.

I guess those are just a few of the things that make visiting so often part of the magic!

I ended up going four times between March 2004 and last week (March, Summer, October, and January). I thought it would get old, but as many have already said, it becomes more enjoyable. Knowing that you don't have to do everything and 'get your moneys worth' is such a relief. Taking it easy, enjoying the sights, and just having a relaxing vacation. I agree with many that say the more you go the more relaxing it becomes...

I agree with many of the other posters--the trips get more relaxing. There is more time to just "be," whether it is at a resort or at a park. Whereas on the earlier trips I would come home needing a vacation from the vacation, now the vacation IS the vacation! With my family some of our trips are "business" (cheerleading, marching band), so these activities tend to influence what takes place, but I find I really enoy, as another poster said, having the luxury to stop and smell the roses.

You know I wrestle with this each trip. Are the kids not appreciating it as much if we waited 2 to 3 years between trips? My son (7) asked me tonight if I knew how many days until Disney (this is his 4th trip), I didn't and he was shocked!
I think with more trips you start to take the time and appreciate the details. We are going with 'first-timers' this trip and I'm looking forward to seeing through fresh eyes again!
I guess my answer would be 'no' you are not jaded by going too often!

Jaded? Never. When we finally see it all, we might take less trips, but until then, it is four weeks a year.
One week in May for the Flower Festival
Week after THanksgiving to see the Christmas decorations
Two weeks in September to relax.
Each trip we try and do something new. New restuarant, new tour.
The more we go, the more we want to go.

The more we go, the more relaxed we get! It's nice being there and knowing you don't have to "do everything". We can hang at the pool, people watch, take a nice walk around world showcase, etc... There are always things "we haven't done in a while"...or never done!

If all you do is ride the rides, yes, it would lose some magic! But, as we all know, WDW is so much more than "rides".

This is all good news to me. There's always been a special anticipation about our WDW trips, stepping off the plane @ MCO, getting that blast of hot, humid air, hitting the first park with a little sense of recognition yet the realization that 'we're not in Kansas (PA) anymore'. I don't think it's a coincidence that the last few trips we started and finished on the Great Movie Ride. Truely an alternate universe I never want to lose my appreciation for.

I would love to be able to go often enough to feel as if I may become jaded! Please tell me how to make that possible? Problem is, I sure love the idea of being able to be more relaxed, take in the sights and do the things one may not choose to do thinking they may not be back any time soon! I'm happy for you that you had a great trip!

I'm getting ready to go to WDW for my 4th trip in a year. The first trip my 4yo and I went for a week and met my sister. The second trip was just my DH and myself. :cool1: The 3rd was for almost 2 weeks--me, my now 5yo, my sister, and my mom's first trip at 81yo. I was in a minor panic my last day there last month wondering how in the world (no pun intended) I could go back so soon (5 weeks between trips). This trip will be me with my 11yo son. Of course I am very excited and ready to go back. Each trip has been unique, shared with different people, doing a variety of things. I repeated some things each trip and did some things each trip that I didn't do any of the other trips.

After I return it will be quite a while before I plan to return, which will be hard.
