Getting Injured at Disney

What a great movie :)

Favorite quote

George III: By your dress, sir, and general demeanor, I'd say you were a minister of God.
Dr. Willis: Oh, that's true, Your Majesty, I was once in the service of the Church. Now I practice medicine.
George III: Well, I'm sorry for it. You've quitted a profession I've always loved and embraced one I most heartily DETEST.
Dr. Willis: Our Savior went about healing the sick.
George III: Yes... but He had not seven hundred pounds a year for it.
[laughs]
George III: Well, that's not bad for a madman.

Great quote, wrong movie.

Mike, here's my favorite quote from that movie:

"I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

And..."From that fateful day when stinking bits of slime first crawled from the sea and shouted to the cold stars, "I am man.", our greatest dread has always been the knowledge of our mortality. But tonight, we shall hurl the gauntlet of science into the frightful face of death itself. Tonight, we shall ascend into the heavens. We shall mock the earthquake. We shall command the thunders, and penetrate into the very womb of impervious nature herself."

I think you're thinking of The Hunt for Red October.

I am doing locums with team health , which does the virtuas
I work for Virtua Urgent Care in addition to my private practice.

Are you thinking of moving to Orlando? Is that why you're asking about the healthcare there? My wife and I are contemplating that move and healthcare is one thing we have a question about. Possibly relocating is also one of many reasons that I started doing the Urgent Care work because I felt that would make it easier to get a job after moving. CentraCare has 20+ Urgent Care centers in central Florida and they are not the only network either. I figured having that experience would give me more job options down there.

Interesting thread.

What I've heard from many who needed to be rushed to the hospital, generally you go to celebration but there are circumstances (like immediate threat and being more north on property) where you go to dr phillips instead. i've already read some trip reports where people talked about first being brought to celebration and then after some testing being transfered to orlando (not sure the exact hospital name) that was better suited. I defer where I should go with the doctors that work with me so I couldn't tell you which is better for what without asking them.

I happened to be at celebration for a few days a couple weeks ago and I know a lot of tests actually get reviewed/results from another hospital which I assume is orlando but I didn't actually ask. I will say this for anyone that hasn't been to celebration, that place is obviously built by disney with scented hallways, themed areas, an ER entrance that feels like pulling up to a resort. hair dryer next to the sink/mirror that looks like it's from a moderate. The main entrance really feels like walking into a disney resort with a front desk/concierge style sign in. I didn't see the whole place but disney has touched it :)

Wow! Even scented hallways? Very cool. I know that Disney had its hands in the pediatric wing but wow!

The obvious question being what are the hallways scented with/like? All I can think of is Halloween Horror Nights where they theme areas to smell and there have certainly been some not to pleasant ones.

The one I really remember was an area with a coastal theme so light pictures and colors around beach, shells, nautical but not restaurant overload, it was hospital first. that had something that my daughter described as "sun" but I would call it beachy.

So cool! Like the suntan lotion scent in the lobby of Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland!

I'm not totally sad I've never been to the Paradise Pier Hotel now! I'm generally drawn to the Disneyland Hotel, for no real reason. *cough*Trader Sam's*cough* I'm adding "sniff the lobby of Paradise Pier" to my plans for my next DLR visit.

I prefer DL Hotel myself. I went to PP during my first trip.

Yes I was. Working on getting a florida license already. Although given this recent heat wave , I'm definitely having second thoughts on central florida.

i have also considered cruise ship medicine , which i hear the pay is horrible but you get to enjoy the ship and ports on occasion.

I ended up being transported from the MK to Celebration ER & I was very happy with the treatment there although the 5 hours I had to spend there after being run over by an ECV driven by a child didn't make me real happy. But I was glad the Celebration is part of the Florida Hospital network & all my info was available to them & vice versa when I had to give my local Drs the info to find on the hospital network.
