Me = Claire (33), massive Disney fan, chief planner…(a little on the OCD side ) obsessive shopper, addicted to scrapbooking and very impulsive which doesn’t bode well for our credit cards!

Hubby = Lee (34), not a massive Disney fan but still enjoys it, adrenaline junkie, easy going and the sensible half of our partnership!

8th December 2008.

Thankfully we had an uninterrupted nights sleep and woke up at about 7am. Although my head was groggy for the first hour or so I had finally started to feel better. I just had a runny nose & cough but I can live with that. :woohoo:

I packed some of our things into the suitcases ready for our hotel move tomorrow, then had a shower & got ready for our shopping day!! I drove over to the Prime Outlets, we haven’t been here since it had been changed from the old Belz mall. It was nice & I would definately go back. :goodvibes

For some reason I didn’t make note of what I bought today?? (Maybe I subconsciously realised I didn’t want any written evidence for hubby to use against me at some point in the future! :lmao: ) Anyway I will do my best to remember what we bought. :goodvibes

We were at Prime a few hours and went in lots of shop but I won’t list them & bore you all. ;) I bought lots of smellies from Bath & Body works, they had lots of Christmas fragrance shower gels etc such as Candied Apple I got several different ones to try and so far they have all been lovely. They also had a lovely ceramic penguin which I couldn't resist, it is white & chrome with a lovely cinnamon scented candle inside. (I forgot to take a picture before I packed it away with the Christmas decorations at the weekend. ) Lee bought himself a lovely Fossil watch & I got a DKNY watch – mine was so cheap compared to DKNY watches over here. :thumbsup2 I also bought two pairs of Sketchers trainers. :thumbsup2 Lee also found a pair he liked but didn’t buy them , he later went on to regret this as we never saw them anywhere else & didn’t make it back to the Outlets get them. :headache: I couldn’t not go in the Disney Outlet could I? ;) I bought some Mickey head Halloween candle holders, some WDW scrapbook kits, stickers & a Tinkerbell Scrapbook. I think that was it, we also stopped for an ice cream (mint choc chip), it was a really lovely sunny hot day and I was regretting wearing jeans!

We then went over to the Mall at Millenia, it was about 2pm by now & other than the ice cream we hadn’t eaten today. First stop was Johnny Rockets, if you haven’t been before it is an American style diner & they do the best milkshakes here!! Chocolate for me, Strawberry for Lee. YUM! We also had a burger & fries each for lunch, which was lovely.

Unfortunately Lee was starting to feel ill today  so I made him take some tablets in the hope it would just be a headache & pass.

The Christmas decorations here were lovely:

I saw a gorgeous pink handbag in Gucci but resisted the temptation :rolleyes1 I got a few more bits in Yankee Candle, some perfume & make up from Victoria Secrets & Lee got some Paco Rabanne aftershave. We left the mall about 6pm and headed back to the hotel so Lee could rest as he was now feeling really rough! :headache:

I finished packing the rest of our things & the new purchases ready for the morning. We didn’t feel that hungry so just had some snacks in the evening that we had bought from Walmart earlier in the trip. Lee had an early night & I surfed the internet for a while & watched tv before going to sleep about 10.30pm.

Coming soon - Day 9….We finally get to Disney!!!!! :woohoo:

Yeah - shopping :cool1:

I do love Mall at the Mallenia

How beautifully festive Mall at Millenia looks!!! :santa: Had my first visit there last October and it definitely won't be my last... ;) :cool2:

I have to ask this. How are you coping with the poor exchange rate?

MARTIN.:confused3

To be honest, it didn't effect my trip in December as I had paid for everything in advance & got all our spending money when the exchange rate was $2 for £1.

I am going again in September & the hotel & cruise was also paid for at the same rate....however I have yet to get my spending money changed up so that will no doubt be a terrible rate.

I agree, the decorations there looked really pretty.

Just catching up with your reports, Claire. Sorry to hear you were so ill, I hope it didn't spoil things too much. The christmas show at Busch looked like great fun.....
Re: your ahem speeding warning, if you have Tom Tom you'll see somewhere on the screen (not sure which version you have) that there is a speed limit warning, along the lines of 46/50 (ie 46mph in a 50 limit) if the first number (your speed) is higher than the second it will go bold and red and on some TomTom's you can set it to verbally warn you. I find this invaluable when driving abroad. Bit of a nerdy tip for you;)

Thanks Joanne. :goodvibes

My TomTom hasn't got that. :confused3 It is just a basic version and I bought the US map as an add on. I only bought it to use in the US as both our cars back here have built in SatNav.

excellent days shopping Claire:goodvibes

Lovely shopping day. So sorry to see that Lee had started with the bug. It must have been a new strain because we all had it and heard about loads of other people catching it.

I thought the Mallś Xmas decorations were fantastic. I loved the tree and also that Snowman you photographed, I cannot remember what he was called now.

You got even better value for your dollars with exchanging early. We didn't but still felt with all the sales that were on we were getting some excellent bargains. I bought 3 sets of cultured pearls, necklace and earrings for 12 pounds each which I thought was an excellent price for the quality of them, they were supposed to be $60 each. Also bought lots of clothes reduced to good prices. The only things that didn't seem a good price to back home were dvds because after watching the Grinchmas show we wanted to watch the film again before Christmas and bought the dvd (it was a lot cheaper on Amazon UK when I looked).

Anyway very much enjoying your reports and photos.

Great update Claire,i am really enjoying your reports :thumbsup2 .
We will be going to Prime,as the last time we went it was still called Beltz.Did you notice if the baby doll shop was still there-they sell all clothes+accessories for Baby Born,Baby Annabell etc..Chloe really wants to go back there, and now Emily wants to go being as though she got a Baby Born from Father Christmas.
We are also lucky as we got all our spending money when it was $2 for £1 last year for our trip this April :cool1: .
Great Christmas decs.

Sorry to hear that Lee was now coming down with the 'lurgy',but you were both still trying so hard to make the most of your holiday.x.

We tried our best to make the most of it. It was frustrating though that as I got better Lee got worse...it would have been better to both be ill & get it over and done with. :headache:

I honestly didn't notice if that shop was there...have you looked on Primes website? They have a store directory.
