Getting hats embroidered

We are heading back to Disney after many years, and I feel like I'm way out of the loop of current information. So, if my question is outdated, I apologize ahead of time. I have a question about getting a hat embroidered. I understand that the Chapeau will embroider hats in the MK. My question is if they only embroider hats that you buy there, or can you bring a hat with you, and will they still embroider it? I would like to get my daughter and her friend embroidered hats, but if I could avoid having to buy the hats there, it would probably save us some money. If they do embroider "other" hats, would the cost still be the same, or do they charge more?
I appreciate any info about this.

The shop is Disney's Wonderful World of Memories. I actually had to look up my receipt because it was NOT easy finding this place. But it is next to the Christmas Shop.
