After reading things on these boards today it is getting harder to feed a picky eater (kids) at WDW. My kids don't eat all that healthy food, I know they should, they just don't. I've read today that they took off chicken strips off the menu. My DS lived on those. I wish they would have chicken strips, mac and cheese and hot dogs on every menu for the kids. We are going back in July and it is going to be hard to feed the kids. I hope they change back!! If not i'm not sure what we will do.:scared1:

I've read a lot of hype about chicken strips being removed, but the posts from people there (as late as 2/16-2/17) say that the chicken strips are still on the menu and are as tasty as ever.

Don't count them off the menu until you hear official word.

Im right there with you. I have a 13y/o who always eats the chicken strips. His menu is very limited ( tried to make him try other things when he was younger and he would litterally gag and or throw up:scared1: ) His doc said to leave it alone as long as he eats certain things like peanut butter, pasta and milk products(he drinks alot of milk too) He dosent eat any meat only chicken(strips/fingers) I dont even know if he will want the nuggets:sad2: .

Again, please don't panic that they're gone for sure. Unless you've seen a post or press release that I've missed, I've only seen two posters vaguely refer to 'recent visits' that they were 'told' that they were gone.

I've seen at least three posters who were in Disney in February 2008 Who have eaten the strips as late as 2/17/08.

If it makes you feel better, I've never heard of a kid starving to death at WDW.:rotfl2: As for the hotdogs, mac & cheese, etc.. on the kid's menus I personally would like to see a lot more variety instead of that junk to feed my kids. My kids won't even eat orange mac & cheese or hotdogs.:confused3 They usually want whatever me and DH are having(and I sure don't want to eat those yucky kids meals either). So, you see, no matter what they actually do somebody's gonna be unhappy and it would definately be me if all the kid's choices were chicken fingers, fries, hotdogs, etc.:sad2:

When my kids were small, due to medical reasons, we had to change our diets. I removed all the soda, candy, cookies and junk food from our house, I bought only healthy foods, salad fixings, fruit etc. and my kids started to eat healthy. I am not a health food nut, my family doesn't have to eat "organic" and I don't shop at the local health food store though I'm sure all those things are great. And I'm not going to say it was easy and yes I did let them have sweets occasionally, but they got to understand that this was how we were eating. As a result, I have two strong healthy sons (now 26 and 28) both love to cook and they are not picky eaters at all in fact my youngest I would even say is very adventurous in his food choices.

As the other posters said, don't worry, chances are your child will do just fine. There is a LOT of food for sale at Disney and certainly something will work. If you are that worried, give your son a heads up that the chicken offerings have changed. Perhaps give him the option of staying home with grandma while the rest of you go to Disney or going with the family and eating something a tad different. I am sure he will still want to go along.

Have a great trip.

I've already told my boys (6 and 8) that they are NOT living on Mac and cheese and grill cheese all week when we go in May.

From a reviewer who was in Disney earlier this month, a picture of the new chicken strips.

Heck, I don't have a picky kid, I have a picky DH! Who also is not a big fan of WDW. I'm trying to convince him to take us there this summer. I think he would like it if I really did it right. But the food aspect now has me worried. Looking at the menus there isn't a lot of variety for him. He isn't as picky as a picky child but he definitely has his issues. Wheat buns at the counter service places will be a real turn off for him.

Good luck!
