Getting Hair Dye off Skin

Got my color colored yesterday and some of the dye got on my skin and hasn't washed off yet. I have already used soap and water and scrubbed. Does anyone have a suggestion that has worked for them?

Thanks! The nail polish remover helped, but there is still a faint spot. I'll have to try the alcohol in a little but. Not sure if I have any witch hazel.

Next time have your stylist/colorist take shampoo NO water on their finger rub it on the color then take a dry towel & wipe it off before you get rinsed water sets color. I was a colorist & it works everytime. Ladies even do this when your color at home.

i always use a mix of baking soda and dish soap. it surprisingly really helps.

I also am a stylest. (though currently a stay at home mom) The number one "product" used to get off hair dye...cigarette ashes. WE used to use in school mostly. We call it some kind of magic dust or something but honestly a little bit and it really works. There are also products that you can buy to take it off. Also, the stylest should've made sure it was off before shampooing. Once you add shampoo it makes it harder to get off.
I've never heard of the other things suggested here, but doesn't hurt to try.

I color at home, so the dye formulas I'm sure are different, but my dd's oxy wipes get it off. It probably has similar ingredients to the rubbing alcohol/witch hazel.

I put a thin layer of petroleum jelly around my skin right by the hairline and on my ears, that way it gets on that, then wipes off easily w/ a wet towel I keep handy while applying the color. But sometimes I get it on my chest or arms, and the oxy works great.

Getting it off the walls is a whole other story. Mental note to self...full force allergy sneeze with hair dye in a light colored bathroom = spending the weekend repainting the bathroom

I think I read somewhere that oxy clean is almost completely made up of peroxide.

No you don't. You can make the ashes yourself by setting a few cigarettes on fire on a fireproof surface such as a small glass or ceramic or metal dish. Allow a few minutes because they don't burn that fast. Do it outdoors if you wish.

(Would ashes from burning of paper, wood, cloth, or dried leaves work also?)

Vodka on a cotton ball takes off hair dye.

This may sound crazy, but you can use a wet magic eraser and it will take off the color pretty easily. Just don't rub too hard or it will irritate your skin. Just did this today and it worked perfectly!

OK-You got me! My colorist uses this on me. Ans she uses cigarette ashes so I think it's pretty gross!

I use the same hair color I put on my hair. I always save just a little, and wipe the stained skin with it. That's what my beautician always used. Then I use a clean rag to rinse and I'm good to go.

I use to put a bit of vaseline around the hair line, but if it gets in your hair at all, that area won't take the color. Now I put nothing, use the hair dye and it's a much cleaner job.
