getting from the Poly to Downtown Disney...?

We are dropping off our boys at the Neverland Club at 6:30pm. We have a dinner reservation in Downtown Disney at 7:30pm.

What is the quickest way we can get from the Poly to Downtown? Should we bus...and if so...to where? (I mean is it a straight shot?...or do we change somewhere...?) Or should we just bite the bullet and pay for a cab?

Any experiences anyone....?

There is a direct bus from the Polynesian to the Marketplace with continuing service to Pleasure Island (which covers the West Side). Buses run every 15 minutes, give or take, and it's a 15 minute ride, give or take.

Always allow 45 minutes from the time you arrive at the bus stop to when you get to the restaurant. It wont take you that long, but it's good to plan for walking time, and what ifs.

The bus stop at the Poly is right by Neverland, so that will be very convenient (allow some time for kid check-in at Neverland also). I'd suggest you look at a map for DTD before you go (they should be available in all the hotel lobbies), and make sure you know which stop you want - I think there's one for the Circe/DQ area, another for Pleasure Island, and last for Marketplace. That could save you a bit of a walk, if you get off at one end of DTD and your restaurant's at the other!

There used to be three stops at DTD. There are now two. The first stop is Marketplace. The second stop is for both PI and West Side.
