Getting from Swan to AKL to GF?

Can anyone please tell me the best way to get from the Swan to AKL to meet some friends and then go to the GF for a character breakfast? I have a car, but I'd prefer to get there some other way since our final destination is MK and I'd like to just take the shuttle back to the hotel at the end of the day instead of driving back. Can I take a shuttle from the Swan to AK and then walk to AKL somehow? To further complicate matters, I will most likely have an eight-year-old and a baby in tow.

If you'll have a car, take it. In this case, it'll save you A LOT of time.

I'm no expert, but here's what I guess would be your best bets:

Swan to AKL -- walk to Epcot main entrance and take bus to AKL, or walk/boat to MGM (???) and take bus to AKL. There's no way to walk from AK to AKL.

AKL to GF -- bus to MK, then boat to GF (or a long monorail ride all the way around the Seven Seas Lagoon).

I've never been on the grounds of the Swan, so I may be wrong with the transpo details there, but I do know that going from Swan to AKL to GF is going to be a lengthy journey using Disney transportation.

Resort to resort is the most difficult to manage as you have to do it through a park. So, you can take the boat (or walk) from the Swan to MGM. Then take the bus to AKL from MGM, finally take a bus from AKL to MK and then the monorial or boat from MK to GF. Or take a bus from AKL to AK park and then a bus from AK park to the GF. Either way hitting two resorts and two parks is going to take a LONG time, I would allow an hour for each.

Can you just meet them at GF? If so skip the AKL part then just take a bus to MK and then the monorial or boat to GF or consider a taxi if you really don't want to drive.

We just returned from AKL and I took a taxi from AKL to our breakfast at Ohana at the Polynesian. It ran $17.00 before tip - 2.00 base and .25 a mile.

You really should either use your car or meet the rest of your group at the GF.

If you really have to take a bus take the bus the AK, tell the driver you're going to AKL. You'll probably have to change buses at AK but the driver might take you to AKL. Take the bus from AKL to MK then take the boat or monorail to the GF.

You don't want to use EPCOT as a transfer point. You'll have a long walk through EPCOT and will need park admission.

Thanks so much for the replies. I think I'll take my car and then leave it at the Swan when I take the kids back to the hotel for a nap, then take the shuttle from the Swan to MK for the evening. I was trying to avoid having to drive back from MK to the Swan in the dark. I was at the Swan this past weekend. I'd never taken the bus to MK from there, but found it to be very convenient and fairly hassle-free.
