Can someone help me with this scenario....

We are staying at Saratoga Springs and have ADR's for Ohana on a Monday morning at 7:40. We will have a car that we can use to get to polynesian. I called the hotel today and they said that I would only get a 3 hour parking pass for eating breakfast....my original plan was going to be to drive to the hotel, eat breakfast and leave our car there while we spend the day at Magic Kingdom, but I don't think that we will be able to do that anymore. We could take the bus in the morning to epcot or MK and then take the monorail, I am just worried about how long that will take to do in the morning.

My only other idea was to drive to breakfast and then drive over to epcot (where we will actually be ending the day with dinner) and then taking the monorail over to MK. Does this sound like too confusing of a plan :confused3

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance

You could park at TTC and walk over, or take the bus to the TTC and walk over, then monorail to MK after breakfast.

This is what I would do. Park at the TTC lot (main MK parking lot), take the tram up to the TTC and then walk or take the monorail over to the Poly. There is a marked path from the TTC and the walk is no more than 5 minutes, but if you'd rather you can take the resort monorail instead.

Another option would be to walk to the bus stop at Downtown Disney and take a bus to Polynesian. (Could be a long walk depending on what area of SSR you're in). That would eliminate having to use your car. The only thing is I'm not sure if the buses run that early to DD. Someone else may know.

I was thinking about this route as well, before I suggested the TTC. But most DTD stores open at 9:30. We went to Earl of Sandwich at 8:30 last week for breakfast and the rest was a ghost town.

My thought was that buses would absolutely be running from SSR to TTC very early, and the walk from TTC to Poly is probably shorter than the walk from SSR to DTD anyway.

If you self-park, they'll stick to that three hour limit. Often, if you valet, the attendants can park your car so that it will not inconvenience any guests staying at that resort, and they will let you keep the car there for longer than the nominal three hours. You won't know until you get there, though, and may end up having to move it anyway.

You could also take a cab to the Poly.

Either of these options will cost you a few bucks, but would probably be worth it.

We did this very thing in early August. We caught the bus from SSR to MK. We were in the Grandstands so we knew we'd be first stop and have a seat. We then took the monorail over. No one was on the monorail going TO the resorts at that time. Worked out great!

Thanks for all the advice.... I know as DVC members we get valet for free, so I may just call them in advance at the valet desk and give the guy a couple extra dollars to see if he can keep our car there for the day..... if not dizneefamily, I think your idea will be the best option....thanks

I guess I was trying to aviod parking at the TTC...don't know why, but I really have something against parking there (must be all the pre-DVC times staying off Disney and thinking you are at the park, but still needing to take a bus)

I do the Ohana breakfast every year. They tell you that you have 3 hours and give you a pass (somtimes). I usually do what you planned. I park in the lot a visit the parks all day and return to the Poly way after the 3 hours are up. I have never had a problem, and no one has ever said anything to me about staying longer than 3 hours.
I should also say that the time of the year that I tend to visit is the non-crowded times of the year. If the hotel was booked and the lot was full I would not take a space of someone staying at the resort. But, since the lot is never more that 1/4 full when I visit I usually stay as long as I want for the day.

We have stayed at SSR and went to Ohana for breakfast by catching a bus to the MK and then taking a boat ride over to the Poly. What a beautiful, relaxing way to start your day! Of course we didn't have a car with us so that wasn't an option, but we always look forward to using the boats whenever possible.
