I know the monorail from Epcot to the TTC is currently closed, but does anyone have experience with taking the Skyliner to Epcot and then the Monorails to get to MK?

What kind of time commitment would something like that take?

I assume it’s better to just catch a bus, but I am curious just because this sounds like a more pleasant way to get there.

If Epcot is open (hours are weird right now,) you have park hoppers, monorail is working, skyliner working; then yes you could. I'd say if there aren't lines at skyliner or monorail; it'd take you around 40ish mins to get to TTC, then you'd need to get off the monorail and either switch lines or take the ferry to MK.

Doable, if everything is running, but definitely more time consuming then the bus.

To use the Skyliner to get from Riviera to the MK, you would need to walk through Epcot since the station is at the IG. Just take the MK bus from Riviera as it will be simpler and MUCH quicker.

I can not speak for the Monorail running or not nor a bus ride. BUT the skyliner exits in the back of EPCOT meaning you would need to walk through EPCOT -France - to the front of the park and then to the bus stop. That alone is a 15-20 minute walk. plus the skyliner trip and the Bus or if the mono rail was running taking 2 monorails. I would guess time wise maybe 1 1/2 hours with waits getting into EPCOT and the walk.

As the PP's have mentioned, the only way to get from the SkyLiner to the monorail when it does resume running is to go into Epcot and walk through to the front. The problem with this right now is that you'd need a park reservation to enter Epcot and wouldn't be able to get into the MK until 2:00 pm.

We have entered Epcot at the International Gateway, walked through Epcot and then taken the monorails to MK. It is a long trip. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to walk through Epcot, then give yourself at least 15 minutes to get to the TTC on the Epcot monorail. Then you have to transfer to the MK monorail. Give yourself at least another 15 minutes for that. When you add the Skyliner from Riviera to that trip you've added another ten minutes at least. So give yourself at least an hour to get to MK from the Riviera via Skyliner and two monorails. :)

It will probably take 3 times as long with a lot more walking, not sure why anyone would want to do this, unless you have nothing better to do and just wanted to do something different. LOL

It's a 3 part trip.
The short Skyliner ride to Int'l Gateway Epcot (then walking out to park front)
Taking the EP to TTC monorail
Transferring over to the TTC to MK monorail

It could be fun. Young kids sometimes love alternate transport stuff. But I'd probably only do it if I had plans along the way, like doing stuff in Epcot as you work your way toward the front. Then maybe walking over from TTC to eat at Poly, and from there taking the resort boat to MK would be great :)

3 different modes of transport and none of them buses lol.

EPCOT monorail opening in a few days. Riviera gondolas to Gateway of EPCOT is about 10 minutes. (Must still waer a mask.) To walk from World Gateway to the front of EPCOT depends on how fast you walk. I am guessing about 15 minutes at a nice pace. Monorail time depends on time of day but with a short wait I would guess 15 to 20 minutes. Then switch at the transportation center to the MK monorail. I would say you could easily do this in an hour. I like you think this route is far more interesting than the bus. I concur. Also, you may walk from the transportation center to the Poly then to the Grand Floridian to the new path to the MK. There is a lot to see on the way as the Poly has been updated, the Grand is beautiful, and the new walkway to MK is FANTASTIC!!

The thing to keep in mind is that would require a park reservation for Epcot and park hoppers. AND you would not be able to enter MK until 2pm.

Very true re: a park reservation. I took from the poster's original question they must have a ticket to get into EPCOT and then would be heading to MK at 2:00 or after based on Covid rules. Your clarification brings up a point they may have overlooked when posing the question of going via gondola thru EPCOT to monorail to MK. Personally, I hope for the return of no daily reservation and true park hopper advantages of Pre-Covid trips.
