We have dinner ressie at Cali Gill for our anniversary. What is the best way to get there? I'm thinking a cab. How do I make sure a w/c accessible cab is available? Can I make a reservation for our trip home at the same time? Our ressie is for 7:30 .
TIA

You could take a bus to MK. Then either take monorail or walk/ push wheel chair to Contemporary. Looks like it would be about a 10-15minute walk. Or cab it..

Does anyone have experience getting a w/c accessible taxi. Is there a special phone number? TIA

Personally this is what I would do too. I'd avoid taxis and other offsite transportaton options. I just feel more comfortable knowing that a bus will come eventually instead of hoping the taxi arrives.

That's what I would do too. We are DVC members at OKW and always bus to MK. We have also stayed at Contemporary or gone over there from MK. Its a less thsn 10 minute walk.

I am not aware of a specific number for accessible taxis. You just make it clear that's what you need when you call. I can't check right now, but think there is information in either post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread or the post about transportation.

I agree with avoiding taxis. You do use the normal Mears phone number, but the wait for a wheelchair accessible taxi is much, much longer than it would be for a regular one. I once waited over an hour to get an accessible taxi from DTD back to an offsite hotel I was staying at (sadly, I was in Orlando for a conference, not WDW). It wasn't even a wait because we were going a couple miles offsite, but because all the accessible taxis were being used and then had to actually get to where we were.
