I have an ADR for Hoop Dee Doo Revue on May 31 at 6:15pm.

MK closes that evening at 7pm for the "private U.S. Travel IPW event."

I need to arrive at Hoop Dee Doo 40 minutes before the show, so around 5:30. What time should I get a boat from MK to Fort Wilderness? Does the boat leave from Bay Lake, like the Ferry to TTC?

Also, will the boat still run after the HDD Revue show back to MK? I assume the buses will still me runing to MK even if there is a private event correct?

The launch from MK to Ft. W leaves from the dock on 7 Seas Lagoon, just outside the park gates. It docks at the Ft W dock on Bay Lake. The trip takes about 20 min. Add an extra 30 min in case you just miss the boat. It only takes 5 min to walk from there to Pioneer Hall.

If you are an onsite resort guest there will be buses at Pioneer Hall to take you back to your resort after the show. If you are an off site guest, since MK will be closed, you could drive your car over to Ft W. Park at the entrance parking lot and take the internal bus back to Pioneer Hall. After dinner, return to your car the same way and you're ready to head back to your resort. If you choose to leave your car at the TTC lot, the resort launch should still be running to MK.

Thank you both! Sounds like I need to leave even earlier than I originally planned.

Exit MK by about 5:30.

Tables at the Hoop are pre-assigned (you'll see your table number printed on the Hoop ticket that you will pick up from Will Call.)

I was told we need to arrive 40 minutes early to pick up tickets at Will Call. If that is the case we need to be at FW around 5:30, is it really necessary to arrive that early. I didn't plan on arriving 10 minutes before the show but I was thinking of leaving MK by 5 to catch a boat. Or should we leave earlier, say around 4:30?

They tell you to arrive 40 minutes early because most guests arrive 30 minutes LATE.
(No, I'm not kidding.)

You can (and should) pick up your Will Call Hoop tickets as soon as you arrive at WDW.
(You can do so at ANY ticket booth, Guest Relations or WDW Resort Concierge.)
The Will Call tickets are simply PRINTED for you when and where you ask for them.
Just have your confirmation number handy to save time.
We always stop by the concierge desk on check-in day and have them give us our tickets then.

We have done Hoop a couple of dozen times over the years.
We don't drive at WDW, so we've taken the shuttle boats from MK many, many times.

Since this is your first time (or one of your first times) for the Hoop,
you can certainly arrive as early as you like (we love to visit FtW)
and take a bit of apprehension away.

Nowadays, we arrive about 15 minutes before the show.

That Sunday is our arrival day and unfortunately we are not staying on property so we will only be in MK and then head to dinner. I was told by the CM on the phone that there is no where in MK that I can pick up my tickets, she said only at a resort. I know CM's at the call center do not alway provide the most accurate information.

From your post it sounds like I can pick up the tickets in MK. I would much prefer that.

1. No surprise there. ;)
2. Yup.
3. That'll work.

Have fun!

You can park at Fort Wilderness, take the internal bus to the Settlement, then walk over to the boat dock for your MK visit. Usually that parking lot is okay to park in, since you will be attending the Hoop De Doo anyway. Then you can just take the internal bus back to your car at the end of the night.

Boat from MK is best as others have said, especially since you'll already be at MK. We've taken the internal bus before, since we were coming from Animal Kingdom, but that seemed to take a long time from what I remember.

Yeah, we arrived really early to HDDR a couple of years ago (our first time seeing the show). There was NO reason to.

We'll be showing up just before the show this year. We'll get our tickets at the front desk at POR.

Dan

The Hoop stop (Settlement) is a very long bus ride (with multiple interim stops) from and to the FtW parking lot ("Outpost.")
(Note the locations at very top, and the very bottom of the map below.)
That is a lot of unnecessary bus riding and FtW is not quick or easy to drive to to begin-with.

I know some guests would rather drive anywhere than take Disney transportation, but in this case,
you'd have to make a long drive AND take several forms of Disney buses and boats to accomplish the coming and going, in addition to the driving.
