Didn't I read that you can take a boat from MGM to Epcot? It sure would be handy if we could do that.

Yes, but it takes at least 30 minutes.....
stops at S/D, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk
before heading over to Epcot. You may want to walk directly or take boat to S/D
and walk via the Boardwalk.

yes you can.
however it stops at Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk, THEN Epcot.

My advice? if you are able bodied, and want to get there quick, get off at the Yacht/Beach club stop, and walk to EPCOT...you'll beat the boat.

Total trip - by boat - from MGM to Epcot is around 24 minutes I think. You can cut this in half by walking from Yacht/Beach.

It does take about a half an hour, but it's a nice, relaxing break! I love just sitting for 30 minutes and taking in all the sights.

I would suggest getting off the boat at the first stop, the Swan/Dolphin. The walk from MGM to Swan/Dolphin is relatively boring and the longest part of the walk to Epcot. From the Swan, you can walk to Epcot via the Boardwalk. It's about a 10 minute walk and fun walking across the Boardwalk.

I second this suggestion. This is our favorite way to make this trip.

Definitely worth the boat trip. Found out about it through these boards and we tried it this past summer. my ds loved it. We have been going there for so long now and never knew about it. My ds felt he found a great find. It was a time to relax and not be in crowds.

We took the boat from MGM to Epcot this summer, just before Frances hit. We'd parked at MGM since we started the day there. The boat was really relaxing and we really enjoyed it. When we left Epcot after Illuminations that night to go back on the boat it only was scheduled to return as far as the Swan/Dolphin stop. When the captain heard that we'd parked at MGM he decided to take us all the way back to MGM so we didn't have to walk that last leg. It was a magical way to end our day, that's for sure.

The captain said that since MGM closed so much earlier in the evening than Epcot they stop running that part of the route about an hour after MGM closes.

We always walk between the two resorts, like we don't get enough exercise in WDW! ::MickeyMo
