Getting from MGM to Epcot

Is it true that you can take a boat that goes back and forth between Epcot and MGM?

My 7 yr old DS, a certified Disney addict, told me about this and I never heard of it!

It's a nice, relaxing ride.

If you have the time it is a nice and relaxing ride. The boats run from the Studios to the Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach Clubs, Boardwalk, and then on to Epcot.
Maybe 20-30 minutes total.

She's absolutely right!

The boats leave EPCOT from the dock just outside the International Gateway entrance (between France and Great Britain in World Showcase section of the park). From there the boats stop at the Boardwalk dock, then the YC/BC dock, then the Swan/Dolphin dock and finally the dock at the Studios. It's about a 30 - 45 minute ride depending on how long it takes to load and unload guests at each stop.

From the Studios to EPCOT, the order of the stops is reversed.

There is no charge to ride the boat.

Just so you know...if time becomes a factor...my DW and I decided to walk from MGM to Epcot last week. The boat was taking a LONG time to get to the dock. We waited for 20 minutes and the boat still wasn't in sight. So we took the walking path to the Boardwalk and then from Boardwalk to Epcot. It took about 25 minutes. We beat the boat by a long shot. Of course, if your timing is better than ours, by all means catch the boat.

I second the walk...it is very nice and scenic. Of course, if your feet are tired, the boat is great...or you can ride/walk...by getting off in the boardwalk area. Great excuse to stop and get a sweet treat to eat while on your walk! Tell your DS that he would make Walt proud!

We walk. Its quicker usually, and you burn some calories if you eat too much at WDW.
